Plot: Painted Skin” is an action-thriller centered on a vampire-like woman who eats the skins and hearts of her lovers. It is a story that brings audiences into the world of wild imagination about spirits and ghosts, but also explore the realities of human nature and morality at the same time.

My Verdict:

Green Tea says:

Supernatural thriller or romantic thriller? Which one? The second chinese movies in a week. So oriental feel now. Donnie Yen headlined another action flick together with the usual assemble of casts in martial art films.

STORY: The story based on the most popular supernatural ancient chinese novel, this is not really a horror one. There are many version, but this one is a more romantic side, more humanic. The plot is not that bad, but the build up is very slow in pace and always have difficulty to reach the peak. The film is also feels empty and quiet as well.

CAST: The casting was okay. Another convincing portrayal and strong performance by Donnie himself. His joke and humours work. It was a rather watchable but may reach some point of boringness, so beware!!
