NOW BIOSHOCK IS GOING TO FILM VERSION WITHOUT GORE VERBINSKI

The Bioshock, a video game for PlayStation 3 console has now been pending for shooting following announcement that Juan Carlos Fresnadillo will be replacing Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy, The Ring 2). Few months back, rumours that Verbinski will be leaving the movie production was so strong, citing problems over budget and location. Althought the director seat is passed to Fresnadillo, Verbinski will remain as the producer.

Universal Pictures has obtained the right for making a film about Bioshock, expected to be requiring a budget of up to US$ 160 million. Bioshock, is of course a first person shooting game which has branched out into platforms such as PS3, XBox and via PC.

Bioshock is set in an alternate history 1960, the game places the player in the role of a plane crash survivor named Jack, who must explore the underwater city of Rapture, and survive attacks by the mutated beings and mechanical drones that populate it. The game incorporates elements found in role-playing and survival horror games
