[REC] 2 TRAILER IS COMING REALLY SOON AND QUARANTINE 2 TOO

[REC] 2 is out in Spain since October 2 last year in its native country, Spain. Hailed as one of the greatest horror flick that originated from the Amigo-land, I have to confess that [REC] was very engaging. Even, the American remake - Quarantine was equally stunning though no where near the hype of the original. While many panned the movie because of how annoying Jennifer Carpenter was with her over-acting, I still found it interesting.

2 years later, comes [REC] 2 and the movie has so far grossed US$ 17 million in the European market. Now the Spanish movie will be making its release at United States on July 9, with Magnolia Pictures distributing it. Watch the UK version's trailer here anyway (I don't feel scare, why? Oh probably I played Left4Dead too much)

Read more after the jump for some Quarantine 2 news.

WHAT'S YOUR NUMBER SAMBERG, QUINTO AND EVANS?

Andy Samberg has joined along the Anna Faris and Chris Evans' romantic-comedy, a new R-rated one called What's Your Number? Zachary Quinto is also in talks to join the cast. Samberg and Faris last seen (oops..heard) together in the animation Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs but this will be their first together in a live-action.

What's Your Number? sees a woman (Faris) who starts to panic, on sleeping with her 20th man, that she's had too many relationships and missed Mr Right along the way. Cue soul-searching, revisiting old boyfriends and no doubt many comedy escapades. Evans will play her womanising next-door neighbour, while Samberg and Quinto are possible for the exes.

Shooting will start on May with Mark Mylod will be on the director seat, taken from Karyn Bosnak's book 20 Times A Lady.

RESURRECTING GODZILLA

It looks like even if Roland Emmerich was not able to kill the beast, it looks like we are going to have a second chance of doing so. But those were in 1998, when Emmerich's Godzilla turned out to be as awful as the sand moist bit dirt. It looks like flash forward to 2010, Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures are aiming to make another version of Godzilla (AGAIN!!!)

The two companies have now closed a deal with Japanese owners Toho to bring back the beast into life, plus 3D and IMAX 3D if possible.

"Godzilla is one of the world's most powerful pop culture icons, and we at Legendary are thrilled to be able to create a modern epic based on this long-loved Toho franchise," Legendary chief Thomas Tull tells the Heat Vision Blog. "Our plans are to produce the Godzilla that we, as fans, would want to see. We intend to do justice to those essential elements that have allowed this character to remain as pop culturally relevant for as long as it has."

The planned film will be aiming for a 2012 release. Will size does matter again?

BRAND NEW KNIGHT AND DAY

This summer, Tom Cruise is back to action again, no longer some dramatic role in tiresome political or Nazi movie. He will team up with a stranger and unlikely lady, in the form of innocent looking Cameron Diaz, been dragged into every single moment of life threatening and suspenses with Cruise.

That's Knight & Day, coming soon in theater this 25 June 2010 in the Stateside. Malaysian release is around the same time too.

Knight and Day centers on a lonely woman (Diaz) whose seemingly harmless blind date suddenly turns her life upside-down when a super spy (Cruise) takes her on a violent worldwide journey to protect a powerful battery that holds the key to an infinite power source. Grace is playing Diaz's sister, who is getting married, excited that Diaz will take the place of their late father and walk her down the aisle.

Here is the second trailer for you to enjoy. Do you like it? Look good don't it?

Oh, by the way, the music theme accompanying the trailer was Muse's Uprising, cool!!!

RACHEL WEISZ FOR BOND 23?

Wait! Before you proceed on reading this, this is still technically a RUMOUR!! Even those guys at Cinema Blend are not so sure yet but their insiders believed that Rachel Weisz is seriously considered for a role in Bond 23. Bond girl? No. Villain? Yes.

Now this is a difficult news to ensure. A week ago, not been reported on this blog because of its total rubbish (and unconfirmed rumours that quickly cool down), has that Freida Pinto and Olivia Wilde were casted for the Bond girl role. While Pinto's rep was quick to cool it down, Wilde's casting was denied by her herself. Now, we have rumours that Rachel Weisz will play someone in within the Quantum organization - presumably the head of the shadowy organization. It's time to find out where Q and MoneyPenny originated from.

The script will be written by Peter Morgan, Neal Purvis and Robert Wade. Sam Mendes will direct the movie in case the greenlight was given by MGM.

It was still hard to determine to what extent on the movie's development itself, given that MGM overhaul debts are really hurting the lion. It is still slated for a 2011 release but we will just wait and see though.

THE HOBBIT IS DELAYED, AGAIN

Looks like the liquidity in the MGM studio is still not settle yet and it gives a huge impact on the production of The Hobbit. While two weeks ago we have Sir Ian McKellen himself confirmed that the production and shooting will start this July, it seems that the films will not be even touched at least until the end of the year.

Andy Serkis (the Gollum/Smeagol) said that in an interview with Digital Spy that, "It is, apparently! At some point towards the end of this year, I expect it'll start kicking off."

Now, Sir Ian McKellen also mentioned in his website that the movie will begin filming "at a time to be announced."

What does the studio that owns the rights to The Hobbit holds? Nothing. MGM is currently on humongous debts and negotiations have been conducted to sell the rights to other companies; including Time Warner (New Line), Access Industries and LionsGate, although the latter has pulled out of the bid. Delay in filming means the release date of 2011 or 2012 look doubtful.

TOM HANKS HINTS YOU WITH HIS CASTING NEWS

Tom Hanks has announced his casting list for his upcoming sophmore directorial effort in Larry Crowne. The comedy is set to be produced under Universal Pictures. The announcement for his directorial was made on January and it looks like the cast has been announced. No need press release, just a twitter picture is enough to prove the point.

Obviously the picture below is taken from his Twitpic. Here are the lists of the casts appeared on the picture that you can recognize after the jump. Before that, do you see anyone familiar on that?

THE VERDICT

What is so wrong about this movie? Foremost, nothing!! While I can understand the outbursts of many famous movie reviewer regarding this movie, I can't help to notice that one of them was my idol - Roger Ebert. He criticize the movie for been "deplorable", "happy gathering of new Facebook friends" and "this whole film is Jackson's fault." This will be the first time in many years that I have to go against Ebert. Not that Ebert is wrong but the sentiment of hatred is too much of a resentment. I believe Peter Jackson has done his best for this movie.

24 OFFICIALLY CANCELLED

The wildfire about the possibility that the Fox's television series 24 may get cancelled have been running around for the past month. It is now however confirmed that the Jack Bauer's action-flick accordance to time frame and split screens will see the end of its tunnel at season eight. The current season eight has eight episodes left and most probably the writing team will give it all up with a bang for the running towards the season finale in May.

The twitter by series director/producer Jon Cassar says it all:
News from the 24 set,the crew has been told that 24 has come to an end. There will b no season 9. Its been a great run, thanx all 4 watching

Fox stated that the series finale decision was a joint one made by 24 star/exec-producer Kiefer Sutherland, showrunner Howard Gordon, Twentieth Century Fox Television, Imagine Entertainment and Fox Broadcasting.

EASTERN PROMISES 2 IS ANNOUNCED

The best partnership in town regarding some indie crime is back. The teamwork between David Cronenberg and Viggo Mortensen has expanded yet another one again. It wasn't that long since we enjoyed watching History Of Violence and Eastern Promises, but the fact that the sequel to the 2007's Russian mob crime drama makes me feel that it has been indeed very long.

Slash Film quoted Deadline that producer Paul Webster will produce the sequel from Steve Knight. It has been long rumored that the sequel will actually comes to live and yet today is the day it makes it official. There are no words on who may return - this include co-star Naomi Watts, nor any details on new characters yet.

Eastern Promises in 2007 was hailed for its gruesome violence and exceptional crime drama. It was nominated for three Golden Globe Awards and earned Viggo Mortensen a Best Actor nominee in Academy Awards. Shooting is expected for this winter.

GREEN TEA MOVIE SUPPORTS EARTH HOUR

Green-Tea-Movie supports Earth Hour 2010.

Earth Hour 2010, an awareness program to cultivate the cultures and lifestyles that will contribute to climate changes.

Earth Hour is a global event organized by WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature, also known as World Wildlife Fund) and is held on the last Saturday of March annually, asking households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights and other electrical appliances for one hour to raise awareness towards the need to take action on climate change. Earth hour was conceived by WWF and The Sydney Morning Herald in 2007, when 2.2 million residents of Sydney participated by turning off all non-essential lights. Following Sydney's lead, many other cities around the world adopted the event in 2008. Earth Hour 2010 will take place on March 27, 2010 from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., local time.

Therefore, to attribute my support for Earth Hour 2010, GreenTeaWorld decided to:
  1. Switch off any lights and non-essential electrical appliances (except refrigerator)
  2. Will not sign into Twitter, MSN and Facebook (No internet for the period of time)
  3. Will not using any vehicle (if I'm going out for dinner later)
  4. Will not be updating any blog posts
  5. Will not using mobile phones to text (save battery)

So, that is what I'm going to do later at 8.30pm.

What would you do?
What would you do for our mother nature?
And
What would you do for Earth Hour?

PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 2 HAS AN OFFICIAL DRIECTOR

We have been waiting long to know who is going to helm the so-called sequel for Paranormal Activity. It's been a while now and they even keeping us who to choose from a list here. First it goes to Kevin Greutert but he opted out to continue the Saw franchise. Anyway, the good news is that the hunt is over and the role will officially go to Tod Williams.

Director of the original Oren Peli wrote on the film's official site that “I have some awesome news for the fans – Kip Williams will join us for the next chapter of the story. We are thrilled to have Kip working with us. He is the guy we want at the helm, because he knows exactly what we want to deliver. I don’t want to spoil the story but I promise it’ll surprise you.”

Tod Culpan "Kip" Williams is an American director, producer and screenwriter whom among his limited filmography included the 2004's The Door In The Floor with Jeff Bridges and Kim Basinger, adapted form John Irving 1998's A Widow For One Year. That movie has several nominations for independent movie scenes under the belt.

BRYAN SINGER WON'T DIRECT X MEN FIRST CLASS

Is it much of anyone disappointment that Bryan Singer will not direct the upcoming X-Men: First Class? But as a consolation, you still have him producing. Blame the workload he has to catch up, with production of Warners Bros' Jack The Giant Killer means he has to pass out the job for the new X-Men spin-off.

Fox is still looking for a potential replacement for Singer but the one who will be chosen will work on script by Singer and Jamie Moss.

The story will focus on a young Charles Xavier and Eric Lensherr, with roles for younger versions of characters like Jean Grey.

DESPICABLE ME TRAILER AND ANOTHER 3D

Looks like 3D animation may become the next in-thing. Fresh from 3D presentations from Alice In Wonderland and How To Train Your Dragon, expect another one this summer, precisely July 9. Steve Carell is Gru in Universal Picture's Despicable Me.

The movie while we have seen plenty enough of teasers have already had an official trailer, at last!! Thanks to the studio; Universal Pictures.

Plot-wise; In a happy suburban neighborhood surrounded by white picket fences with flowering rose bushes, sits a black house with a dead lawn. Unbeknownst to the neighbors, hidden deep beneath this home is a vast secret hideout. Surrounded by an army of tireless, little yellow minions, we discover Gru (Steve Carell), planning the biggest heist in the history of the world. He is going to steal the moon (Yes, the moon!) in Universal’s new 3-D CGI feature, Despicable Me. Gru delights in all things wicked. Armed with his arsenal of shrink rays, freeze rays and battle-ready vehicles for land and air, he vanquishes all who stand in his way. BRAD BIRD FOR M:I-4, SERIOUSLY?

Mission: Impossible 4 needs a director and it badly needs one for this summer shooting. Paramount Pictures, Tom Cruise and producer JJ Abrams have been searching high and low and they have three possible list. Zombieland's Ruben Fleishcer, Brad Bird and Edgar Wright are the three. Wait, Brad Bird?

While many are tossing Ruben Fleischer up for the job, it was reported that he was indeed one of the most soughted man now. DreamWorks is currently hunting him for an untitled action comedy penned by Mike Arnold and Chris Poole - apparently they are very interested to work with him (here). Another project in his mind is 30 Minutes Or Less (here). Oh, never mind looks like he is going to passed out.

Read more after the jump for more of Brad Bird's possible involvement.

POPEYE THE SAILOR-MAN IS BACK IN 3D

Popeye is rejuvenating himself into the big screen again. Oh yes, apparently there is already some affirmation from Sony Pictures Animation that the animation arm of Sony will be handling a new adaptation for the iconic cartoon figure. Unlike The Smurfs, which will employ mixed CGI and live action technique, this one will stay on an all-CGI affair and will be given some 3D treatment.

Producer Avi Arad will be the man behind the driving force and eventually been offered of this job by former Marvel man Scott Sassa. Arad told Variety, "Scott called me and said, 'I have something for you.' I literally started singing the famous Popeye song after securing the rights. What always blew me away is the level of the animation. It was so beautiful and unbelievably detailed."

By the way, the last time we saw Popeye on the big screen was back in 1980, when funnyman Robin Williams star as the iconic sailor man and directed by Robert Altman. The movie grossed $49 million only and ended up been a flop.

There is no detail about the plot released yet. We shall wait and see then for more to come.

SCREAM 4 ANNOUNCED!!

First of all, it confirms all those rumors that have been circulating for months. Scream 4 is indeed working and by this point of view, the only suitable man to direct it is none other than Wes Craven. Well, that was a spot on. Dimension Films has announced that Wes Craven will spearheading the sequel for the Scream franchise for an April 12, 2011 release. That means, production need to move on at least now.

Now, there are several stars already been roped in. The original stars - Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox and David Arquette are all set to be cast from a script by Kevin Williamson. The script according to Williamson will reference manga comics, Asian ghost girl movies, PG-13 horror movies, vampire films, M. Night Shyamalan movies and even torture porn. (SOURCE: Slash Film)

Looks like Scream 4 would be another fresh trilogy to follow. Are you interested to scream more?

KELLAN LUTZ IS POSEIDON!!!

Twilight's Kellan Lutz has been cast to join Tarsem Singh's War of the Gods. The yet another Greek mythology take, as I have been mentioned last month seems to be taking a full throttle since then with the casting of Slumdog Millionaire's Freida Pinto and Henry Cavill.

Variety reports that Lutz has been cast as Poseidon, the Greek God of Sea. So far, the casting list has been as follow: Freida Pinto (Phaedra), Henry Cavill (Theseus), Mickey Rourke (King Hyperion) and Luke Evans (Zeus). Nevertheless, I have some interesting question to ponder here - could the casting of Luke Evans and Kellan Lutz inappropriate due to their young age, yet portraying the mighty Greek Gods?

Anyway, the shooting for the film will start this April. However, the title may not be the same at the end of the day. A check at IMDB, the title Dawn Of War was given. According to the report, the movie will use mixed reality equipment, the plan is to prepare studio scenes showing the manifest exploits of the mythic hero Theseus.

JOHN MALKOVICH IN TRANSFORMERS 3

Photobucket

Oh! I thought there are no more spaces open for casting in Transformers 3 but apparently I was wrong. Michael Bay has snapped up three stars (coincidently two of them were both seen together in Burn After Reading).

Yes, Bay has Frances McDormand casted for some character - believed to be associated with the National Intelligence Director (WOW!!). Bay also has John Malkovich casted for a weird character - Shia LaBeouf's first boss. There is a third one - in the form of Ken Jeong (remember that 'faggot' Asian gangsta from The Hangover, yes!). While there is no surprise that most of the original casts will return. Even the bad-mouthed Megan Fox is coming back after some shitty comments about Michael Bay!!

More info after the jump.

THE LOSERS POSTER WITH PEOPLE FIRING GUNS

It looks like another comic adaptation for you and also some plot shared from The A-Team. Why The A-Team? Well, again, it revolves around a group of betrayed soldier been forced to run a campaign of their own to seek revenge on those who stabbed right on their backs. Wait, it does sounds like The A-Team.

Ironic but true; presenting The Losers. Here are the latest series of posters for you to thrill. With big guns and dagger, firing imaginary bullets and slashing swift of the blade, this is an awesome poster that tells you how great this movie (might be!)

We have The Losers here: Idris Elba, Zoe Saldana, Chris Evans and Jeffrey Dean Morgan headlined this action-packed twister. Release date is April 23. Here is some piece of action for you to enjoy:

P/S: Chris Evans is all confirmed as Captain America!!

CRUZ IS BLACKBEARD'S DAUGHTER IN PIRATES 4

Penelope Cruz has already joined the casting for Rob Marshall's Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. While we are still unsure as previously what kind of role she will be but an interview with MTV has that producer Jerry Bruckheimer revealed something about her role. In fact, she will be Blackbeard's daughter.

According to Bruckheimer, "She brings a lot of humor to it." Bruckheimer also went on to add that there is "a little romance between Captain Jack and the character that Penelope plays" too.

As previously announced, the role of Blackbeard will be played by Ian McShane. Looks like the movie is approaching its start of production date, with filming scheduled for June. Looking forward for a fresh start to the Captain Jack Sparrow's series though.

CHRIS EVANS OFFERED CAPTAIN AMERICA

Captain AmericaImage via Wikipedia

It looks like the hunt for the right man to suit in as Steve Rogers aka Captain America has finally comes to an end. For the upcoming The First Avenger: Captain America, it is been said that the pivotal role has been offered to Chris Evans. Yes, the same Chris Evans who we used to see playing Human Torch aka Johnny Storm in the two Fantastic Four movies. It was first reported on The Hollywood Reporter but it seems that the news has widespread across the globe.

Marvel has not confirmed the development and CAA, which reps the actor, declined to comment.

If Evans is to accept the offer, he will have plenty of projects to come. A possible three Captain America movies and as well The Avengers series are expected to come in handily. Earlier reports had director Joe Johnston and his casting team looking for an largely unknown actor for the role. Michael Cassidy, Patrick Flueger, Scott Porter, Wilson Blethel, Mike Vogel, John Krasinski, Chace Crawford and Garrett Hedlund were among those who had test for the role.

Joe Johnston is directing the Captain America movie this summer in England. However, there is a problem though where Evans is also committed to do a co-starring with Anna Faris rom-com What's Your Number? this summer too!!

But we are still unsure if Chris Evans would accept or declined the offer yet.

PREDATORS TEASER TRAILER IS AMAZING!!

Last weekend at the SXSW 2010, producer Robert Rodriguez introduced the production of the upcoming Nimrod Antal-directed Predators in a one-style off the beat sneak peak. The first teaser trailer has finally landed online and I am so thrill to give you this trailer something to think about.

A bold new chapter in the Predator universe, Predators was shot on location under Rodriguez’s creative auspices at the filmmaker’s Austin-based Troublemaker Studios, and is directed by Nimród Antal. The film stars Adrien Brody as Royce, a mercenary who reluctantly leads a group of elite warriors who come to realize they’ve been brought together on an alien planet… as prey. With the exception of a disgraced physician, they are all cold-blooded killers – mercenaries, Yakuza, convicts, death squad members – human “predators” that are now being systemically hunted and eliminated by a new breed of alien Predators. In addition to Adrien Brody, the film stars Topher Grace, Alice Braga, and Laurence Fishburne. Co-starring are Walton Goggins, Danny Trejo, Oleg Taktarov and Mahershalalhashbaz Ali.

TIM BURTON NOW GOES TO THE ADDAMS FAMILY?

Tim Burton alla 64 "Mostra del cinema&quo...Image via Wikipedia

It looks like Tim Burton is unstoppable. Well, although Alice In Wonderland was not as grand as I was hoping for, Deadline Hollywood has picked this particular piece of rumor. It may be come to no surprise but Tim Burton is rumoured will make a 3D stop-motion movie based on Charles Addams' famous creation - The Addams Family.

Which direction will Tim Burton goes then? There are several adaptations on hand already but I am hoping that Burton will go for the original cartoons. If so, this will possibly be very dark little delight.

No writers attached yet and certainly it was unsure if Helena Bonham Carter and Johnny Depp will star in this new film too! The project will goes under Universal Pictures' Illumination Entertainment.

NICK STONE MOVIE IS ON

Variety reported that a plan to adapt Nick Stone is underway. Like Jason Bourne, Nick is a spy hero of the long-running series of novels by ex-SAS hardnut and Heat shoot-out co-ordinator, Andy McNab. In the ultimate example of ‘write-what-you-know’, Stone is also an ex-SAS hardnut, constantly getting mixed up in all sorts of political intrigue that warrant solving with extreme violence.

There are currently twelve volumes regarding Nick Stone and the plan game now is to adapt the third book as the first movie. The book Firewall, will however be renamed as Echelon (presumably to avoid confusion with Harrison Ford's Firewall).

Echelon will see Stone team up with a female cryptographer to infiltrate a computer facility that could jeopardise global security. The book author, McNab will write the script treatment himself. Ashok Amritraj and Bonnie Timmerman will produce.

IS THE HOBBIT STARTS SHOOTING THIS SUMMER?

Ian McKellen as Gandalf the White in Peter Jac...Image via Wikipedia

Previously reported, the movie is still in plans and indecisive manners over its production date. Peter Jackson has previously stated that the summer is a possible date to start shooting. Sources from Ian McKellen's website, the man who also known as Gandalf, wrote on his website that he will start shooting the first movie in July.

The first of two planned movies for The Hobbit has not received any official announcement from the studio New Line Cinema yet.

According to McKellen, "Filming will take over a year. Casting in Los Angeles, New York City and London has started. The script too proceeds. The first draft is crammed with old and new friends, again on a quest in Middle Earth. The director Guillermo del Toro is now living in Wellington, close to the Jacksons' and the studio in Miramar. “

Wonderland was a peaceful kingdom until the Red Queen (Helena Bonham Carter) overthrew her sister, the White Queen (Anne Hathaway). The creatures of Wonderland, such as the Cheshire Cat (Stephen Fry), Tweedledee and Tweedledum (Matt Lucas) and the March Hare (Paul Whitehouse), ready to revolt, wait for Alice to help them. With the help of the White Queen, the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp) and the Caterpillar (Alan Rickman), Alice starts seeing flashbacks of her original visit, back when she was seven.

THE VERDICT

Oh, another collaboration between Tim Burton and Johnny Depp and yet again another weird movie to swallow. Is this a good movie? Not really. Is this so bad till you may want to puke all your Subways out? Definitely not. Watching this movie makes no apparent parallel line with the story that you have always read. Rather than a straight adaptation of the ever popular Lewis Carroll's Alice In Wonderland, Burton took a bold moves by making it into neither a straight remake, re-imagining nor a sequel. So basically, you may not necessary need to understand the original children novel nor its after sequel, Through The Looking-Glass.

Troubled by a recurring dream featuring strange creatures, nineteen-year-old Alice Kingsley (Mia Wasikowska) attends a party at a Victorian estate shortly after the death of her beloved father. She learns that the formal affair is actually an engagement party to eventually wed her into the Ascot family who now own her father's trading firm. Unsure of how to reply to Hamish Ascot's proposal, Alice runs away and follows the White Rabbit, Nivens McTwisp (Michael Sheen). She then falls down a rabbit hole into Underland, a bizarre world she previously visited as a child, although she has lost most memory of it and believes what she remembers to have been a dream. That is how it begins.

THE CLOSER LOOK AT THE PRIEST

Official Priest Teaser PosterImage via Wikipedia

Vampire flicks are showing no signs of making me bored. Seriously, how many time you ended up been cheated by such a movie. The so-called teenager hype of The Twilight Saga is nothing but a piece of junky emotional play. It's ten months to go and while the movie will get a special 3D treatment, a reunion between Paul Bettany and Scott Stewart's Priest looks an okay okay for me.

The short piece of news was taken from Entertainment Tonight. The reunion following a disastrous turn out for Legion is regreatbly going to have some impact on this movie but with the line up of cast, this we should give some try.

Here is the video exclusive from Entertainment Tonight!

Plot: A warrior priest (Paul Bettany) disobeys Church law by teaming with a young sheriff (Cam Gigandet) and a beautiful priestess (Maggie Q). The three band together to track down a band of renegade vampires who have kidnapped the priest’s niece before they turn her into one of them.

Priest is fueled by a casting line up of Paul Bettany, Cam Gigandet, Maggie Q, Stephen Moyer, Karl Urban, Christopher Plummer, Brad Dourif and Madchen Amick. The release date is currently placed on January 14, 2011.

THEY FOUND A SON FOR HUGH JACKMAN IN REAL STEEL

Jackman at the X-Men Origins: Wolverine premie...Image via Wikipedia

Back in October, Green Tea Movie published the story of Hugh Jackman been casted to lead the upcoming DreamWorks' Shawn Levy-directed Real Steel. You can read more about the story here, (If on that post I mentioned possible, well it is all confirmed now that the Wolverine will lead).

Now, the latest news has that the movie will have a role for the son of the down-to-luck boxer. While rumors have been floating around about the possibility that Dakota Goyo will be casted for that role, it seems now that it was confirmed by the guys at DreamWorks.

Reel Steels, set in a near-future America, sees a former boxer (Jackman) found himself unable to box for his favorite sport due to regulation that boxing among humans were banned. Instead, robots were used as an alternative. One day, the fighter-turned-trainer discovers a robot in a junk heap that might just help him to rebuild his career. At the same time, he also need to mend his relatinship with his estranged son Max (Goyo). Sounds like Million Dollar baby in robotic motion!

The 10-year-old Goyo is a newcomer but you may have seen him in Resurrecting The Champ and Defendor. Steel will film this May for a release in 2011.

RIP PETER GRAVES

Peter Graves & Leron GublerImage by Sharon Graphics via Flickr

Peter Graves, one of the most respected actor from his era and perhaps had one of the longest career span filled with great achievements. However, the legend passed away at the age of 83 on March 14 due to heart attack.

Born as Peter Aurness in Minneapolis, Minnesota, he was the younger brother of actor James Arness. He married Joan Endress in 1950 and had three daughters and six grandchildren.

Peter Graves held several key roles that made him famous. He is well known for his role as Jim Phelps (Mission: Impossible), Prince (a World War 2 German spy in film Stalag 17), Captain Clarence Oveur (Airplane! and Airplane 2: The Sequel) and many other roles.

While he returned for the 1988 TV remake of Mission: Impossible, he refused to be a part of the Tom Cruise-starring film version in 1996.While some take it easy as they get older, Graves preferred to stay active, with guest roles on everything from House to American Dad and hosting US documentary show Biography.

He’ll be missed. RIP Peter Graves.

DOWNEY JR NABBED FOR GRAVITY

IMG_9795 "Robert Downey Jr."Image by SpreePiX - Berlin via Flickr

Alfonso Cuaron's 3D space thriller looks in doubt following news recently that Angelina Jolie passed out to star, but now good news seems to be pouring in for the production. At least the movie may have Robert Downey Jr to star in.

Gravity, a thriller written by Cuaron and his son Jonas, has Downey Jr to play the role of a commander of a team working at a remote space station. Tragedy strikes when he and a female colleague (presumably a role to have Angie in) are working outside the space station, when a debris from a destroyed satellite kills most of their crews. Clock is ticking and they must do what ever they can to return to Earth.

Deadline Hollywood and Empire Online reported that the shooting may start this summer. If that so, how's Downey Jr's portrayal of Sherlock Holmes in a planned sequel will be?

HUGO WEAVING UP FOR RED SKULL

Captain AmericaImage via Wikipedia

The deal is not locked yet but it looks like Joe Johnston would really want Hugo Weaving to take on the role of Red Skull in his upcoming Captain America. While many actors have already test screen the role Steve Rogers, it may be up to a few moment worth of another wait to see who will be the next big thing.

For the moment, savour with Hugo Weaving. Red Skull is one of the frightening villain and an archenemey of Steve Rogers (the alter ego of Captain America in real life), a sabetour and spy who worked as Hitler's right-hand man. The concept if in case by any chance that it follows the comic, would have the same one like Hellboy; sets in World War 2 and depicts between rivalry against the Nazis.

Apparently, Joe Johnson is eager to work with Weaving again, Besides, Weaving is good in The Wolfman.

DAY & NIGHT TO ACCOMPANY TOY STORY 3

Coming Soon have landed an exclusive first look at the Pixar's short film that will made its feature together with Toy Story 3. It is not an unusual tradition for Pixar to put one short animation before the start of the main feature. Take example of last year's Up - where Pixar put Partly Cloudy before the start of that Oscar winning movie. Watch the short animation (in case you missed it) below:

Partly Cloudy from ELISEI PINTILEI on Vimeo.

This time, Toy Story 3 will be accompanied by Night & Day. "When Day, a sunny fellow, encounters Night, a stranger of distinctly darker moods, sparks fly! Day and Night are frightened and suspicious of each other at first, and quickly get off on the wrong foot. But as they discover each other's unique qualities--and come to realize that each of them offers a different window onto the same world--the friendship helps both to gain a new perspective."

Here are the the first look of Day & Night (not to be confused with Tom Cruise's upcoming Day & Knight!)

TRAILER: THE OGRE AND THE PREDATORS ARE HERE

Another busy week in trailer-land, this week we have already seen several trailers coming in online. First, we have Iron Man 2 (Paramount Pictures) and his mobile kit. Then, we have Tron Legacy (Walt Disney) with Jeff Bridges in young and old version. Later we have Robin Hood (Universal Pictures) and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (Summit Entertainment). You can view back all those trailers on the respective links. Note: All trailers are courtesy embedded from TrailerAddict(dot)com.

Now, we need to accommodate space for another two.

DreamWorks has posted their animation tentpole Shrek Forever After's latest trailer online. Check that out.

The fourth adventure of Shrek will be taking off this May 21.
PLOT: After challenging an evil dragon, rescuing a beautiful princess and saving your in-laws' kingdom, what's an ogre to do? Well, if you're Shrek, you suddenly wind up a domesticated family man. Instead of scaring villagers away like he used to, a reluctant Shrek now agrees to autograph pitch forks. What's happened to this ogre's roar? Longing for the days when he felt like a "real ogre," Shrek is duped into signing a pact with the smooth-talking dealmaker, Rumpelstiltskin. Shrek suddenly finds himself in a twisted, alternate version of Far Far Away, where ogres are hunted, Rumpelstiltskin is king and Shrek and Fiona have never met. Now, it's up to Shrek to undo all he's done in the hopes of saving his friends, restoring his world and reclaiming his one True Love.

At the same weekend, 20th Century Fox also debuted what looks like a teaser for the upcoming Predators, a supposed sequel to the 1987's original Predator in which Arnold Schwarzenegger play a lead man that hunts and hunted by an alien entity known as Predator. This movie is still posterless (officially but expect to see it the next few days) and is directed by Nimrod Antal, featuring the talent cast of Adrien Brody, Topher Grace, Alice Braga, Laurence Fishburne and many others. At the mean time, watch this teaser (or rather sneak peak).

NOTE: The film stars Adrien Brody as Royce, a mercenary who reluctantly leads a group of elite warriors who come to realize they've been brought together on an alien planet... as prey. With the exception of a disgraced physician, they are all cold-blooded killers – mercenaries, Yakuza, convicts, death squad members – human "predators" that are now being systemically hunted and eliminated by a new breed of alien Predators.

Predators is out this July!!
