This week, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader will be releasing in 3D across our land. Despite the movie franchise so far has not been much outstanding, many are still mesmerized by the magical world of Narnia, the world C S Lewis created in the 50's, a resonance to the world of Middle Earth in the Lord of the Rings. Indeed, we are hoping 20th Century Fox can bring something different to redeem the excitement the first movie was built upon.
The third Narnia movie will again features some exciting songs on its soundtrack. Carrie Underwood announced on her official website that she has co-written and recorded a song specially for the movie. It was further confirmed that the you will be able to listen to the track on the end credits of the movie.
Underwood's song entitled There's a Place For Us, has been released on iTunes two weeks ago and is currently seated at 107th rank in the Billboard US Hot 100 Singles. For the real taste, watch/listen to the track in the embedded video below:
So what do you think? Amazing? Can you say you don't love Carrie Underwood?
Catch The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader this week in 3D and general release next week.

Yes, we heard from the director itself Michael Bay that the new teaser trailer for Transformers: The Dark of the Moon may be arriving soon. The principal photography has recently wrapped up after about four months shooting. Along the way, there have been many speculations about the tips and details of the shooting with plenty of recorded video by passer-bys managed to get itself up into the YouTube before been removed. Well, we don't want to play the speculation game because Bay announced that the new teaser trailer will be arriving in a week or two.
Michaelbay.com reports that the teaser will be attached to either Tron Legacy or The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Oh yes, it means that it will be in 3D. Bay in a statement said:
I will give full details of my process and why I liked 3D in the next week right before the Transformers announcement piece comes out on Tron and Narnia.Transformers: The Dark of the Moon is set to open on July 1, 2011 which is like 8 months from now. The movie will ensembles the casting-likes of Shia LaBeouf, Rosie Huntington-Whitely, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, John Turturro, Alan Tudyk, Ken Jeong, Patrick Dempsey and John Malkovich.
In the meantime, Bay denied reports that Transformers 3 has 3D problems. The rumors started last week when IESB claimed that the 3D quality for the movie was utterly disgusting and may have forced the production company to look for redemption by making post-production conversion. For that this is what Mr Bay responded:
Wow, I read these morons on the internet who think they are in the know. “We have have problems with our 3D????” Really? Come into my edit room and I will show you beautiful 3D. There has never been a live action show that has pushed the boundaries of 3D like Transformers 3. We shot the entire movie with 3D cameras. I actually loved shooting in 3D. I will give full details of my process and why I liked 3D in the next week right before the Transformers announcement piece comes out on Tron and Narnia… And don’t watch this movie in 2D, we made it for 3D.
Here's an extra, the footage during one of the shooting:

This piece of news has just came in. In one of the most intriguing move, the academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences have announced that James Franco (the star of 127 Hours) and Anne Hathaway (the star of Love and Other Drugs) will co-host the upcoming Academy Awards. Well, looks like the Oscar season is just looming closer and closer now. Expect more Oscar contender titles to be revealed pretty soon.
While it seems that the partnership of James Franco and Anne Hathaway will definitely something interesting to look for and while I have no problem to see some young guns taking over the hosting of the prestigious award, there are now some speculation that this move is an attempt to boost the Oscar ratings.
Both stars have movies coming out for possible Oscar consideration. Franco stars in Danny Boyle's 127 Hours which will have late release in March, while Hathaway's Love and Other Drugs may have not scooped much box office receipt over the weekend but many agreed that both stars have some short to rake up some nominations.
The Academy Awards may not be the only thing they will be working on together. Ridley Scott's planned Aliens prequel has both stars been scouted for some roles. Well, we hope this couple, or not, will make the next Oscar something to look for. Remember Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin last year? That was history.

Another sad day at the Hollywood. Irvin Kershner, the American film director and occasional actor, best known for directing Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, Never Say Never Again and RoboCop 2, has passed away on November 29. He was 87 years old.
Kershner is not a household name considering that he isn't as glamourous as the other veteran director like Clint Eastwood. Nevertheless, Kershner is a delicate and thorough with his cinematic skills. Kershner built a respectable career after been offered a chance to direct the second Star Wars movie by producer George Lucas. The result was striking and successful with many lauded The Empire Strikes Back as one of the best Star Wars movie of all time.
His goddaughter Adriana Santini, who lives in France, did not specified the cause of death. AFP meanwhile reports that Kershner had been suffering from a chronic illness. Anyway, Hollywood hast lost two big stars over the course of 24 hours. This morning, Green Tea Movie reported the death of the legendary comedian Leslie Nielsen. RIP for both gentlemen.

Not many fans of this generation may remember him but ask your parents who was the biggest star that turned movie franchises like Airplane! or Naked Gun into a popular cult. Of course, they may tell you it was this special comedian, Leslie Nielsen that has been so fondly comedic, absurdly mesmerizing.
Leslie William Nielsen, a Canadian born actor has passed away on 28 November (or 4.30 AM Malaysian time today) at a Ft. Lauderdale, Florida hospital, according to his agent John S. Kelly and his nephew Doug Nielsen. He died of complications from pneumonia at the age of 84.
Born on February 11, 1926 in Saskatchewan, Canada, Nielsen began his first acting career in small screen during the 50's. Then, he was landed he lead role as Commander John J Adams in his subsequent movie, The Forbidden Planet, which proved to be a successful movie for MGM. He continued in several serious, action and dramatic themed movies like 1968's How To Steal The World, 1972's The Poseidon Adventure and 1979's City On Fire.
Nielsen's comedic breakthrough came with a supporting role in 1980's Airplane!, a parody of Zero Hour!, Airport, and other movies that dealt with air travel. In Airplane! his deadpan delivery contrasted with the continual absurdity surrounding him. In the film when asked, "Surely you can't be serious?", he responds with a curt, "I am serious. And don't call me Shirley."
He then acted in one of those popular comedic action franchise, The Naked Gun. The first installment entitled The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!, the film returned Nielsen to his role as Frank Drebin. The film involved a comical scheme of a ruthless drug kingpin to use hypnosis in an attempt to assassinate Queen Elizabeth II. The Naked Gun franchise while not well-received among the critics, are one of those that defines Nielsen as a slapstick absurd comedian.
In a statement by his nephew, Doug Nielsen, as reported in the Vancouver Sun:
He passed away today at 5:30 p.m. in Fort Lauderdale. He had been in the hospital with pneumonia for the past 12 days, and in the last 48 hours it just got worse. This afternoon, surrounded by family, his wife and friends, he basically just fell asleep. It was very peaceful. With a career spanning over 5 decades, Nielsen has appeared in more than 100 movies, with the star shining perhaps most brightly in comedies including Airplane! and The Naked Gun.

Well, if you are intended or anticipating the first image of Jacob, Edward or anything to do with Bella's scene, this might be a little disappointing. However, if you are familiar with the material source (the novel by Stephenie Meyer), you may recognize the scene. What do you think, can you figure out which scene in the book does this image carries?
ANSWER: {START HIGHLIGHT} According to Coming Soon, the image is a reference to Edward and Bella's post-wedding love-making, which involves a good bit of pillow biting apparently. {END HIGHLIGHT}

Please don't laugh out loud (LOL) when I said that the previous title for this movie was Laundry Warrior. Yes, now it has been retitled as The Warrior's Way. Last month, GTM brought you the trailer for The Warrior's Way which features Korean international superstar Jang Dong-gun and it was hell of an action. The fantasy action film revolves around an Asian warrior played by Jang, who is forced to hide in a small town in the American badlands after defying the last mission to kill the infant, supposedly the last of a clan-cleansing. He meets the town drunk played by Rush, and a circus knife thrower played by Bosworth, both of whom have powerful secrets.
I am certainly hoping that this stylish Asian ninja flick can work its way better than last year's dodgy similar stylish movie Ninja Assassins. The Warrior's Way did not have much star powers to anchor the movie (except the name Jang Dong-gun is quite big in Asia), nor having any great director to begin with. The only name they able to market with is Barrie Osborne who also produced Lord of the Rings. The casting round up includes some familiar faces like Kate Bosworth, Geoffrey Rush and Danny Huston. The movie is opening next week in cinemas nationwide.
Now, we have five exclusive clips for you to enjoy. We have 3 clips from the movie and 2 special US TV spots. Somehow probably I should just throw you again the official trailer. Oh, can somebody tell me why these Ninjas speaking English again?

Distributor: Walt Disney
Running Time: 100 minutes
Directors: Nathan Greno, Bryon Howard

Plot: "Rapunzel" is an action-packed, swashbuckling, animated musical comedy about the girl behind 70 feet of magical, golden hair. A princess stolen from her parents' castle as a baby, Rapunzel is locked in a hidden tower longing for adventure. Now an imaginative and determined teenager, she takes off on a hilarious, hair-raising escapade with the help of a dashing bandit. With the secret of her royal heritage hanging in the balance and her captor in pursuit, Rapunzel and her cohort find adventure, heart, humor, and hair... lots of hair.
THE VERDICT
Rapunzel or Tangled or whatever you want to call it; represents Walt Disney's 50th animation feature that does not have any tie-ins with the Pixar Animations. Not in particular purpose I want to compare this to any Pixar's but from the time when the first Disney animation back in the year 1937; over the years, Disney has handled many fairy tales and the time seems imminent that someday, this Brothers Grimm's beloved character who owns a magical long hair would soon has its own unique touch from the Mickey studio. Yes indeed and the time has arrived and that time is now. Rapunzel may not be as great as the other classical fairy tale movies from the studio but by far it is still a movie that knows how to spell a good charm on its own and presenting a spectacular animation experience.
The story-wise of the adapted movie is a very loose and re-imagination of the classical tale of Rapunzel. SPOILERS BEGIN: Contrary to the original tale, the movie begins with the first sunray shines upon the land and a magical flower blooms. The flower holds the magical power of healing and youth. A witch, Gothel, decided to use it to keep herself young, but the only time the magic worked is when she would sing the flower a song. Centuries later, the island kingdom's royal couple is expecting a child; only to much despair the queen is dying. Hearing upon the legend of the flower, the whole kingdom looked for the mysterious flower.
The flower eventually healed the queen and she gave birth to a princess whom they named Rapunzel, gifted with golden hair and healing ability. Avenging for lost of the flower, Gothel kidnapped the princess and raised her in the isolation tower deep in the forest, constantly brushing her hair and telling her that the world is a cruel and evil place into which she should never go. Curiously, every year on Rapunzel's birthday, she peeped through the window from the tower, looking up at the sky for strange lights floating from the city. Rapunzel constantly begged her 'mother' to let her step outside to the world, only to turn into the deaf ears of her 'mother'. SPOILERS END
Rapunzel: A Tangled Tale marks another fruitful adaptation and reimagination that again tweaks the familiar story we have ever heard and turning it into a charming yet beautiful movie. Unlike the original story written by the Grimms in the 19th century, the movie has no radish, evil witch or peasant couple. Simply, the movie develops on its own way but retaining the effortless need in taking in again the royal elements with it. We have never failed to see another castle that looks like the one in Disneyland over the years, well, it is not a bad thing after all. You may say this is just another re-telling into the fairytale in Disney's way but it is more than that. Similarly, last year's The Princess and the Frog worked well in the same way because not only it presents an unique adventures, it tweaks the familiar tale with enchanment and pleasing musics to play along the plot.
The story is truly authentic when it comes to pleasing the audience. Disney has yet again, never fails to deliver a charming yet soulful story. You may argue but I would love to say that Disney has always done something that no other studio dares to do. Once, there is a notion that an animation mains to be a laughing stock of entertainment, with the silly or ridiculous story that meant for entertaining. However, Disney did not, again, followed those pattern, instead it establishes a worthy movie to watch. Tangled blends a well storytelling that recaps the traditional and timeless beauty while maintaining a sensible and contemporary style of romantic plot. To much or not much of a surprise, there are some swashbuckling action accopmanied, thus broadening the scope of the movie it plays.
It comes to no worst that the visual is truly stunning. The visual looks fantastic even if it is not in 3D. However, the only crucial point that Rapunzel fails to follow is that it lacks the genuine emotional tie-ins of a movie from the Pixars. In Pixars, their movies are always dwelling deep about the essential hidden emotions but Rapunzel is a few notched behind. However, there isn't much to lose after all. The solid musical pieces are nevertheless a great consolation to sooth on. After all, this is Disney's animation - something that you can truly trust and it seldom fails. Rapunzel is one of them.

Take a sight on Cloverfield and Paranormal Activity, what similarity do you see on them? Yes, true, both movies are inspired from the ever-popular (nowadays) found-footage format. The format seems very intriguing and therefore most likely would work on horror movies more than any other forms of genre.
We are happy to report to you that The Weinstein Company has picked up the rights to Brian Miller-written upcoming film Apollo 18. Apollo what you ask? Yes the Apollo Program that the NASA used to have back in the days which eventually lead to the first man landed on the moon back in 1969 (that is fact). The last Apollo Program was numbered 17 and the new movie will depicts on why NASA decided to stop the moon exploration program (fictionally of course).
Apollo 18 speculates what if the program continues and it landed on February 1972 (again, fiction) which led the exploration team to found alien life on our moon. With The Weinstein Company behind the project, Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted) is also attached to produce while Spanish director Gonzalo Lopez-Gallego is stepping in to helm the project.
IGN has the fist look on Apollo 18 poster and the plot is as follows:

IGN has the fist look on Apollo 18 poster and the plot is as follows:
A quintessential Cold War story, Apollo 18 casts light on the covert and undocumented lunar mission that officially “never happened.” Bekmambetov, hired by Russia to shoot a documentary about the Russian space station, recently came across footage in its space archives that bolsters the idea that an Apollo 18 mission did, in fact, take place, and reveals startling evidence of extraterrestrial life forms. This actual footage will be part of Apollo 18, a paranormal thriller that will interpolate fact and fiction.Apollo 18 is in early production but hasn’t begun shooting yet for its early 2011 release, giving it a very short window for completion. The date on the poster suggest the release is on 4 March 2011.

[now updated with international poster]
Sony Picture's upcoming The Green Hornet has been bumped to January. That is not a good sign since many January pics in the past are those in the past has been dumped by the studios for their limited potentials in box office and also with the audiences. Despite The Green Hornet is opening this January, the new international trailer is still showing and convincing us that the movie has some packing punch in it. Still 50-50 I would say.
Enjoy the new international trailer that debuts on Yahoo Movie:
From the new footage (some extra), it is still hard to decide if this movie will works or not. Audience in Malaysia, like any other Asian countries may be buying because of few reasons. The first, it is a comedy. Second, it has some stylish actions. And third, it features Taiwan's international pop star Jay Chou. The movie may not work in the Stateside, because the reason is simple - the movie still looks cheesy and unappealing.
Seth Rogen stars as the titular character Green Hornet, a playboy-turned masked hero Britt Reid who runs the media mogul following his father's dead. He teams up with his father's assistant, Kato (played by Jay Chou) and the legendary Imperial car dubbed as the "Black Beauty", they combat the nototrious gang leaders in the street of LA.
The movie is currently slated for January 14 opening in USA and will debuts in Malaysian theater about a fortnight later. The movie is presented as 2D and 3D form, directed by Michel Gondry.

The Dark Knight Rises has already garnering a lot of potentials although the movie will only opens in July 2012. Two years to go and it seems that it is likely that we are heading towards the last Batman movie for the caped crusader world under the care of Christopher Nolan. We have been told countlessly that The Dark Knight Rises, the third in the structural Batman movies from Nolan will be his last.
In a recent interview with Total Film, bale revealed that:
I believe, unless Chris (Nolan) says different, this will be the last time I'm playing Batman. If there are any rumors or speculation that the series will continues, Bale said:
Until Chris tells me, I don't believe it. It's gotta be from his mouth, or else I don't really know.It was recently revealed that The Dark Knight Rises script will be turned in after the new year and that the film will start shooting in May for it’s July 2012 release date. There wasn't much to deal about now since Nolan plays thing very close to his chest. Despite all the returning cast, we know that at this point, Tom Hardy has been casted and Nolan is currently searching for a new lead female cast.

Sony Pictures' undying vampire franchise, Underworld has a continuation. That continuation has now been given a name, a synopsis and directors to helm with. On Twitter, Sony Pictures has also announced that they are looking forward for new castings, albeit the old Selene will be back in the fourth movie.
I still love the first Underworld movie, which features the fierce and bloody battle between the vampires and the werewolf clans of Lycan (Lycanthrope in shorts). That was in 2003. In 2006, the much uninspired sequel arrives and then in 2009, Sony Pictures brought audience back into the mythology origins with a prequel - that was very boring.
Now comes a fourth movie and Sony has announced to be entitled Underworld: New Dawn. Kate Beckinsale who once has waning interests on the franchise has reportedly will be reprising her role as Selene. New Dawn will be a new entry into a new trilogy and according to Bloody Disgusting, the premise of the new premise will be as follows:
In the meantime, Sony has announced through Twitter that they are looking for female teens at the age of 18 and above to answer their casting call, presumably for the role of Nissa. So far, we only know that Kate Beckinsale is back while the rest we are not so sure.

After being held in a coma-like state for fifteen years, vampire Selene learns that she has a fourteen-year-old vampire/Lycan hybrid daughter, Nissa, and when she finds her they must stop BioCom from creating super Lycans that will kill them all.It sounds very peculiar and cliche that the studio may wanted to introduce a young protege in the forms of a daughter. It is however interesting enough that we might have more story in the franchise to come forward. I loved the first movie, given its icy gothical looks and very in-depths into the mythology stories about the vampire and werewolf entanglements. With the Swedish directors Mans Marlind and Bjorn Stein taking over the director duties from Lens Wiseman and Patrick Tatopoulus, we hope Underworld 4 would be a bright start to a new trilogy chapter in the franchise.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer was a 'rotten' movie that cultivates among the teenagers back in 1992, in the expense of the director Fran Ruben Kuzui. Despite been written by Joss Whedon, the movie which features Kristy Swanson did not ended up well, collecting only US$ 16 million on its run for 20th Century Fox. Then, it landed as a TV series from 1997 to 2003 due to the effort of creator Joss Whedon. For that, it is a smash hit.
Now Warner Bros. is taking the series back into a reboot, aiming for a darker version. Back in 2009, the Hollywood Reporter reported that the rumor of Roy Lee and Doug Davison of Vertigo Entertainment were working with Fran Rubel Kuzui and Kaz Kuzui on a re-envisioning or relaunch of the Buffy movie for the big screen. The movie would not be a sequel or prequel to the existing film or television franchise and Joss Whedon would have no involvement in the project. None of the characters, cast, or crew from the television series would be featured. Now flash forward to present day, the rumor has been confirmed and the project received a greenlight.
THR now reports that Warner Bros. has picked up the movie rights to the remake of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, with Charles Roven and Steve Alexander of Atlas Entertainment boarding as producers. With details of the remake is still kept under wraps although the script will be written by Whit Anderson.
The confirmation of the project has sent the fans of the Buffy into furious situation. They know the ending if the hit series were once again landed in the hands of Kuzui, without the involvement of Joss Whedon. After the story broke, E!‘s Kristin Dos Santos sent an email to Joss Whedon asking how he felt about this development.
This is Whedon's reply:
Kristin, I’m glad you asked for my thoughts on the announcement of Buffy the cinema film. This is a sad, sad reflection on our times, when people must feed off the carcasses of beloved stories from their youths—just because they can’t think of an original idea of their own, like I did with my Avengers idea that I made up myself.
Obviously I have strong, mixed emotions about something like this. My first reaction upon hearing who was writing it was, “Whit Stillman AND Wes Anderson? This is gonna be the most sardonically adorable movie EVER.” Apparently I was misinformed. Then I thought, “I’ll make a mint! This is worth more than all my Toy Story residuals combined!” Apparently I am seldom informed of anything. And possibly a little slow. But seriously, are vampires even popular any more?
I always hoped that Buffy would live on even after my death. But, you know, AFTER. I don’t love the idea of my creation in other hands, but I’m also well aware that many more hands than mine went into making that show what it was. And there is no legal grounds for doing anything other than sighing audibly. I can’t wish people who are passionate about my little myth ill. I can, however, take this time to announce that I’m making a Batman movie. Because there’s a franchise that truly needs updating. So look for The Dark Knight Rises Way Earlier Than That Other One And Also More Cheaply And In Toronto, rebooting into a theater near you.
Leave me to my pain! Sincerely, Joss Whedon.
It sounded both sarcastic and funny, as well expressive in the same time. We understand you, Whedon. So, what is your take over this issue? Should we see another Buffy movie that does not have Whedon with it?

Ghostbuster 3 has been quite under the radar for so long. Not long ago, Green Tea Movie reported the project will be moving forward by Sony Pictures before Bill Murray once shot down the production as rumors. It's been more than a year in fact that we last talked about it but it since like mow we may get the production jump starts.
According to Screen Rant, Sony Pictures has reportedly sent out a casting call to Los Angeles and Chicago actors, in preparation for the start of Ghostbuster 3 production. It is rumored that the movie may start shooting this May.
We have no problem to say that despite the 2 decades gap between the second and the new Ghostbuster movies, considering that it is getting common for the Hollywood to look back the 80's archives for reboot, sequel or remake attempts. We do know that the original franchise stars Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson and Sigourney Weaver will be returning for the new movie. So far, the plot written by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky is laid out as follows:

THE VERDICT
While it would be easier to read on the whole story surrounding the foundation of Facebook as one of the largest and most prominent social networking website in the world through Wikipedia or the source which this movie adapts from, the other simpler way is by watching this movie for 2 hours. By the end of the 2 hours, you ask yourself could this be the movie event of the year? Or you may ask yourself how much you are now got yourself into comprehending why people are got addicted to Facebook. Whatever the outcome results are, there is absolutely no chance that you will feel disatisfied and this movie been unworthy. After all, did I mentioned it as one of the best movie of the year? Read on to know why.
When a film is in the hand of David Fincher, the outcomes are usually outstanding. The Social Network tapped down a beautifully created movie with a rare quality that not only been a smart and brilliant talkative movie, but expanding the zone to include cockiness and cold-pleasure into the most watchable way. The Social Network discusses issues like sex, greed and obsession. This is not a movie for people who is expecting an action or horror drama, and could be very wrong if you have the intentions prior watching it. The movie presented audience to chuck out a brilliant script where characters are basically exchanging dialogues by uttering the most impossible, ridiculous, hilarious and even the most absurd one in a true attention-getting fashion. This indirectly makes The Social Network a gripping drama with fascinating story line and plots audible.

The dramatization of the Facebook foundation may seems a little too dramatic from the real event, according to the real founder himself. How can you not blame it? The reason is simple. Writer Aaon Sorkin wants to provide a compelling story about the story rather than factual one. The Social Network borrows the elements from the real life event, adding in some slashes of alteration until surprising many; not an overly serious movie about people making lawsuits on others. It is a flawless screenplay and it is easy to relate it on how the impact has made the movie so plausible, comprehensive and unorthodoxly enjoyable.
The Social Network works because it employs the truth in revealing human nature in tackling about relationship and the whole social experience. It is not a guilty-pleasure film or been too geeky to deal on humanity; simply to say - The Social Network doesn't need you to understand the detailed technical jargons, but requires your commitment to apprehend that what ever they do, they blow your mind on what the end result they want. The other interesting notes here to point out is indeed the acting performance. Jesse Eisenberg owns the movie by marking an astonishing performance as Mark Zuckerberg. The equal stunning jobs are also done by the second tier acts of Andrew Garfield (who handsomely deals the role of Eduardo) and surprisingly Justin Timberlake (who played Napster's Sean Parker).

In the end, The Social Network is an excellent movie that has flawless script and beautifully directed movie, while consistently stunning and visually effective to deliver a strong and compelling story. It is never been difficult to pin- point the effectiveness in the partnership of director David Fincher and writer Aaron Sorkin. It is indeed the movie of the year! No doubt!
