As I have said, this will be a busy week for tentpole movies to receive new teaser or trailer. Yesterday, Sony Pictures unveiled the new first trailer for 'Men In Black 3' with time-jumping meet with some skepticism if it will be any good. Still, the MIB3 looks okay on superficial but I guess we'll need more reasons to say yes! Today, Paramount Pictures unveiled the new trailer for their next summer tentpole sequel to the 2009 lukewarm franchise starter G.I. Joe. You can watch the trailer for G.I. Joe: Retaliation right after the break.
If 2009's Stephen Sommer's G.I. Joe leaves you with a bitter taste, here's something to heal that after-taste. Director Jon Chu has promised the combat fans that this will be better than the first one. The first preview from the trailer does point out that he might be right after all.
G.I. Joe: Retaliation, the sequel to the 2009 original film features almost entirely new casts while the story from the first movie was carried forward in this one. From the original, only Duke (Channing Tatum), Snake Eyes (Ray Park) and Storm Shadow (Byung-hun Lee) return to this one; joined by newcomers like Bruce Willis, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Ray Stevenson, Adrianne Palicki and Elodie Young into the series.
In the sequel, "Cobra Commander (no longer played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is now the masked leader of the terrorist organization, and his crony, master of disguise Zartan (Arnold Vosloo), has infiltrated the highest echelon of the U.S. government, posing as the president. With Cobra pulling the strings of power, and still running lawless throughout the globe, a new Joe force is tasked with saving the day." (ScreenRant)
G.I. Joe: Retaliation will be in US theaters on June 29, 2012 and expect it to arrive here in Malaysia on the same day or week. P/S: The trailer features a musical piece from The White Stripes "Seven Army Nations".
