FIRST LOOK AT THE CHARACTERS OF THE X-MEN: FIRST CLASS

Comments
X-Men: First Class is one of the four major superhero movies of this summer. The others been Thor, Captain America and Green Lantern. We have seen some footages and shots from the three, except for the 20th Century Fox's Matthew Vaughn's directed which remains in secrecy. There are some talks that the movie may have embroiled in troubles but we nevertheless have ourselves the first look with the line up of characters.

The prequel, produced by Bryan Singer will takes us back in time to the 1960s to tell the tale of the origins of the X-Men. The movie will focus on the early days of Charles Xavier (Professor X) and Erik Lehnsherr (Magneto) (whom were played by Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen in the X-Men trilogy). Besides them, the movie will also explore some of the earliest mutants including Beast, Mystique and Emma Frost.

Let's take a look at the mutants.

Don't stare at Emma Frost too long please.

The characters poster revealed the mutants that will be in the movie. They are (from left to right): Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto (Michael Fassbender), Moira MacTaggert (Rose Byrne), Emma Frost (January Jones), Azazel (Jason Flemyng), Hank McCoy/Beast (Nicholas Hoult), Alex Summers/Havok (Lucas Till), Angel Salvadore (Zoe Kravitz - Lenny Kravitz's daughter), Raven Darkholme/Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), Charles Xavier/Professor X (James McAvoy)

While the poster give some idea on how they look like in the final product, it is still lagging behind since the release date is pretty much closing in. I hope the movie will get much needed publicity more than ever, considering how the X-Men has been such a popular property. Besides the characters and costumes, we also have a snippet of what looks like the first teaser poster of X-Men: First Class. After all, we are still waiting for the first trailer, right?

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES HAS TWO ENEMIES

Comments

The closing chapter of the Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy is inching closer for principal photography shooting. While there are merely plenty of mysteries surrounding the story remained unsolved, Warner Bros has came up with a new statement today. According to Screen Rant, they have announced that Anne Hathaway will play Selina Kyle/Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises, while Tom Hardy will play the villainous Bane.

Christian Bale will return dressing up the cape crusader cloak for one last time as we have been told numerously that this will be Nolan's last Batman movie. Interestingly, this new casting news is certainly giving out a great amount of refresh interest now. So far, the reaction over the casting is pretty positive at least for Green Tea Movie.

This is what Nolan had to say about the casting:
I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Anne Hathaway, who will be a fantastic addition to our ensemble as we complete our story… I am delighted to be working with Tom again and excited to watch him bring to life our new interpretation of one of Batman’s most formidable enemies.
Catwoman is one of the characters that have been shortlisted as a possible villain in the new movie. Of course, Anne Hathaway is also one of those who have been linked to that role. For some, the character of Catwoman is pretty much a 'shade of grey'. Catwoman's history in the Batman universe is tricky for its real agenda. While also considering how this character will influence the plot in The Dark Knight Rises; whether or not Catwoman remained anyway in the villain lane might as well depending on some rumors if Talia Al Ghul will appear in the movie. Talia might have some impact on the movie because of the deep tie-in with the first movie. We do not know about that since there is no words about the possibility that Talia Al Ghul, the daughter of Raz Al Ghul (from Batman Begins, 2005 played by Liam Neeson) would appear yet. As for now, I am still suspecting Talia might ended up in the new saga.

Bane on the other hand, is known for his brutality besides his thug pumping muscles. For this role, Tom Hardy will portray the rogue and it would be surprises me if Hardy will pumps himself up like this.

Certainly not. The last time Bane was featured in any Batman movies was back in the flaming days of Batman & Robin. It would seems more justified because I believe Nolan will give Bane some narrative portion of back-story rather than a very irking scenario like in the trashed Joel Schumacher's film. Hardy prior to this announcement has been linked to various villainous role, including the iconic Hugo Strange. Now, we got an answer.

No matter what it is, we hope to hear more on The Dark Knight Rises soon. Shooting will begin this spring and is aiming for a July 2012 release.

THE NEW PETER PARKER SHOOTS WEB ARTIFICIALLY: EMMA STONE

Comments
Last week, Sony released what it looks like to be the first image from the upcoming Spider-Man movie reboot. The reboot has Marc Webb behind the camera, starring Andrew Garfield in the iconic role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Spider-Man also has Gwen Stacey as the leading female role, played by equally stunning rising star, Emma Stone.

Now, with the shooting underway, Spider-Man in the form of Webb's version is already pretty much setting itself  distinctions from the successful Sam Raimi's Spidey trilogy. Webb prefers a young talent in the form of Andrew Garfield who has gave a convincing act in the recent Sony's hit - The Social Network. Sony in the same time prefers a reboot approach rather than continuing where Raimi left the story as.

If you have been constantly seeing this picture, well please look again. This time have a closer look at Garfield's left arm. There were rumors these past few days on whether Webb's version of Spider-Man would shoots web naturally or artificially. The answer was the latter and this was confirmed by Emma Stone in an interview with MTV at last night's Golden Globe Awards. She confirmed that Peter Parker’s web-slinging powers come from a “device,” confirming that Webb’s take on Spider-Man will follow the original comics in this respect, having Parker develop the wrist-mounted tech himself.

I am not sure how fans would react to the news, but as for Green Tea Bern, it doesn't matter. As long as the story, style and pace could be as breathtaking as Raimi's version, it should be subtle for me.

THE 68th ANNUAL GOLDEN GLOBE HONORS FACEBOOK

Comments

The 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards was held this morning (Sunday night at the United States) and it seems pretty much a formulaic result. Ricky Gervais hosted the night with his usual slap humor and had once again bringing and pushing the boundary of comedy to outstretch the norm. The show was great and the winners were pretty much expected. The front-runners have been hitting the title on the spot.

With the exception of other well-received movies like 127 Hours and True Grit, the central of the award winning fight was pretty much came down to usual contenders like The Social Network, The Fighter, The King's Speech and Black Swan. NEW TRAILER FOR BATTLE: LOS ANGELES OFFERS MORE INTENSE ACTION AND STORY

Comments
2 months ago, Green Tea Movie previewed the first trailer for the upcoming yet another alien invasion based action thriller Battle: Los Angeles here. The first trailer (teaser) in my own opinion was truly extravaganza because of its deep mystery surrounding the movie, exposing very little plot and wrap the whole package of action sequences pretty well. During last year's Comic-Con, some footages from the movie were shown and received critical reception from the audiences. Now, Battle Los Angeles or known outside of United States as World Invasion: Los Angeles will be released in 2 months time.

Probably, you should mark this date on your calender now - March 11, 2011. In case you are not sure how great this movie will be, I suggest you to watch the trailer below. This third trailer (the second one was the international trailer) exposes more character story where we are introduced to characters by Aaron Eckhart, Michelle Rodriguez, Michael Pena, and Bridget Moynahan.

Battle: Los Angeles revolves around a Marine staff sergeant (Eckhart) and his new platoon's battle against an alien invasion on the streets of Los Angeles. The movie is presented as an intense real-time war movie from the perspective of the Marines. It has been described by some as "Black Hawk Down meets Independence Day".

The movie is now slated for March 11 (my birthday), 2011 for release in US and March 17 in Malaysia
