POTD: GOOGLE DOODLE HONORS STAR TREK THE ORIGINAL SERIES

September 8, 1966. Star Trek: The Original Series debuted on television. Although it was short-lived, the series which starred William Shatner as Capt. James T. Kirk and Leonard Nimoy as Mr. Spock, spawned a huge cult success, incredible impact on the culture and a few generations of Trekkies.

Today’s Google Doodle is a remarkable tribute to the original series. Today, you can play a little adventure with one of O and E characters and some nods to the elements of the show. Here is your guide for an interactive doodle adventure.

In case you are not so familiar with the series, the characters depicted by the letters are as follows:
Unfortunately, you do not get Scotty and Chekov in the mix.

In the following pictures, I have marked with white arrows to tell you that these are the things that you can click onto.

There is also a nod for the Tribbles, the asexual animals depicted as small, soft and gentle and soothing purring sound producer. Click on (1).

Another nod here is the scene involving the diamond bazooka from Arena where Capt Kirk battles a Gorn – first season 18th episode according to this page.

Anyway, have fun with the little adventure. You may get or you may not. Happy journey, Trekkies!! As well to the non-Trekkies!!
