15th EUROPEAN UNION FILM FESTIVAL STARTS TODAY

The European Union Film Festival (EUFF) returns for the 15th times this year, by offering the very best of the continent's rich cinematic and diverse cultural experience. The event which is organized by the Delegation of the European Union to Malaysia and the Embassy of Italy, will showcase a total of 21 award-winning movies and documentaries between 30 October and 17 December in 4 major cities around the nation.


The film selection at this year’s EUFF has been hailed for its diversity in genres and stories. Some of the highlights in this year’s EUFF include the debut of Italian director Giuseppe Tornatore’s “The Best Offer”, three Oscar-nominated Best Foreign Language Films - Belgium’s “The Broken Circle Breakdown” and Denmark’s double feature of “The Hunt” and “A Royal Affair”, the animation “Niko 2 – Little Brother, Big Trouble” from Finland, and UK’s documentary “Exit Through the Gift Shop”. As the exclusive local partner that hosts the screening of the films, Golden Screen Cinemas will bring you all the 21 titles across four major cities. EUFF in Kuala Lumpur will be held at MidValley, 1Utama and Pavilion KL from 30 October to 9 November. Then, the festival will travel to Georgetown (Gurney Plaza, 13 to 19 November). EUFF will make its debut in Kuching (CityONE Megamall, 27 November to 3 December), before making its last stop in Kota Kinabalu (Suria Sabah Mall, 11 to 17 December).

Tickets for all EUFF movies will be sold at RM 7, with the exception of “The Best Offer” (at normal price, screened under GSC International Screen feature), “Snow White” (free) and “Exit Through the Gift Shop” (free). Tickets can be purchased via GSC e-Payment at www.gsc.com.my, GSC Mobile App (iOS, Android and Windows Phone) or at participating GSC outlets.

The Film Festival is also supported by local partner organisations Golden Screen Cinemas, GSC Movies, BFM, TNT Express Worldwide, Society of Performing Arts Kota Kinabalu, Time Out Kuala Lumpur & Penang as well as Expatriate Lifestyle, Carlsberg Malaysia, Newskaki and KK French Friendship Association of Sabah.
