NEW MOVIES THIS WEEK - 05/03/2009

Here are some trailers and some informations about the movies that will be new for general releasing this first weekend of March 2009. Among the headlines will of course the movie Watchmen itself. Also, movies that will be given a full releasing in cinemas include The Reader in which Kate Winslet won Academy Awards for Best Actress, Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson's canine movie Marley And Me; and so much more.

MARLEY AND ME (U) English - COMEDY

Adapted from John Grogan's bestselling book about his Labrador retriever, the movie stars Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston as a couple who adopts the badly behaved but much-loved dog named, of course, Marley, who eventually teaches them what really matters in life.

THE READER (NA) English DRAMA/WAR

The story opens in post-WWII Germany when teenager Michael Berg becomes ill and is helped home by Hanna, a stranger twice his age. Michael recovers from scarlet fever and seeks out Hanna to thank her. The two are quickly drawn into a passionate but secretive affair. Despite their intense bond, Hanna mysteriously disappears one day and Michael is left confused and heartbroken. Eight years later, while Michael is a law student observing the Nazi war crime trials, he is stunned to find Hanna back in his life - this time as a defendant in the courtroom. As Hanna's past is revealed, Michael uncovers a deep secret that will impact both of their lives

JONAS BROTHERS: THE 3D CONCERT EXPERIENCE (U) English - MUSICAL/DOCUMENTARY

In this 3D concert film, you follow the Jonas Brothers as they cross the country on their "Burning Up" tour. Demi Lovato and Taylor Swift guest star and perform a song with the band and you will see backstage adventures with the Jonas Brothers. A new song by the Jonas Brothers will premiere in the film as well.

L FOR LOVE, L FOR LIES (PG13) Cantonese - ROMANCE/COMEDY

Bobo (Stephy Tang) and Kiki (Alice Tsang) had been friends since childhood, until Kiki ignores their friendship and steals Bobo's boyfriend. At the same time, Bobo's boss postponed her wedding, because her life savings have been conned by her fiance Keung (Alex Fong), who disappeared. Bobo catches Keung, but to his surprise, Bobo made a request for him to scam Kiki for her own private revenge instead. Meanwhile, Bobo's friend Mon (Leila Tong) is undergoing a relationship crisis with long-time boyfriend Fung (Terry Hu). Mon is manipulative and abusive, and so Fung has managed to find himself a leggy backup girlfriend (Miki Yeung). The time has come for him to choose between the two girls.

WATCHMEN (NA) English - ACTION/THRILLER/SCIENCE FICTION

In a gritty and alternate 1985 America, the glory days of costumed vigilantes have been brought to a close by a government crackdown. However, after one of the masked veterans is brutally murdered, an investigation is initiated. The retired superheroes reunite and set out to prevent their own destruction with an extra mission to watch over humanity. In the course of doing so, they unwittingly discover a deeper and far more diabolical plot.
