If you have or have not watch this movie, be prepared. Apparently those who have watched the movie will give you three types of commentary reviews. There are apparently three camps; one - those who grew up reading the novel and love the movie; two - those who have read the novel but think the movie is pointless and three - those who have never read the comic novel before and lost in translation. For GREEN TEA, I am more towards the camp number one because I knew the background of the story and enjoy the movie more than not.

In the box office meanwhile, Watchmen grossed US$ 4.5 million for the midnight show on Friday. The amount is a quarter of what The Dark Knight did last July for the midnight show and less than US$ 7 million Twilight did. For what ever the reasons, the movie critic world is in divided of opinion regarding the movie. The world's famous Roger Ebert praised the movie while another world fame Kenneth Turan on camp two and A O Scott of The New York Times was in camp three.

  1. Roger Ebert know what he's talking about. That man won a Pulitzer writing about movies!

Big fan of the graphic novel here, and saw the movie yesterday. Met all my expectations, exceeded some. Rorshach's interpretation was particularly impressive. And Snyder's ending is actually better than the original!

  2. Disasgree with you on the review of watchmen, on the point3 where those who have not read its GN will lost. I have not read the GN before and I'm not lost. Those who felt lost are because they expect a spider-man or TDK superhero type of movie. Watchmen is more than different. It's more like the old movie "Brazil" type. People nowadays in malaysia especially don't really understand how to watch a movie, and how to differenciate between good and bad. Their mind is corrupted.

Just want to make a point that no, those who have not read its GN doesn't mean they are lost. A lot of them understand. You will be surprised.

  3. I know what you meant. But that is from the rotten tomatoes.

I agree that those who have no understanding on the movie will be lost, where they do not know what the heck it is, especially the ending. Well my point is that, I just disagree on what people including those from RT/IMDB said those who has not read about the GN will totally clueless, in fact, they are a lot are actually understand - they just don't post the blog to tell the whole world.

Well anyway, the movie is great, just that the ending...

    Cheers :)
