The movie is loosely based on the mythology of Perseus, the legendary founder of Mycenae and the Perseid dynasty. The movie is directed by Louis Leterrier, a French director with films like Transporter 2 and The Incredible Hulk. It stars Sam Worthington (Terminator Salvation and upcoming Avatar), Liam Neeson (Taken) and Ralph Fiennes (Harry Potter films as Lord Voldermort).
