Plot: U.S. Deputy Marshal Carrie Stetko (Kate Beckinsale) has been assigned to a base in Antarctica for two years. During the last three days of her assignment, a body is found encased in ice and Carrie is obliged to take part in the continent’s first-ever murder investigation. With the Antarctic winter drawing close, Carrie must work diligently to complete the investigation before the arrival of an incoming storm.

I would say that I am pretty much disappointed with this cheap thriller. Yet again, is Kate Beckinsale's movie and again a thriller and again a cheap one. This thriller is not a fun stuff to see nor to enjoy, its too easy to follow at the same time.

Plot-wise, Whiteout which sets in the isolated land on the earth, Antarctica gives audience a great respect for its unorthodox thriller genre, blasting blood of the murder cases on the icy sheets of the no man land. There is however still enough suspense to bring some edge seats throwing although minimal

Brilliant but not the one we anticipate and it looks like the good points are all strike-out now. While the motion is unique, you can barely able to engage much to the story line. It is retarded to have something which is suppose to bring thrills yet the story is no less predictable. It looks like in many occassions, audience can relatively dash ahead of the plotline. Besides, the plot is as cold as a freezing ice, it looks too simple, too pale.

Kate Beckinsale may be a good actress. However, she is unable to lift the story alone, neither to a great entertaining nor a thrilling action flick. What a waste of a talent I would say, if it keeps going, it will do no good for her at all. The rest of the casts are just been average.

If you think Whiteout is a standout film, probably you should trust the trailer. The trailer itself is already less engaging, less productive and more like a reminescence of what is predictably be the outcome. The movie is a disappointment venture for some unique theme. Too bad, this is just getting worst for Whiteout. Probably, they should called it Wipeout after all.
