STEVE MARTIN AND ALEC BALDWIN TO HOST OSCAR

Hugh Jackman pulled a great show at last year's Oscar ceremony but he opted not to host. Recently, Adam Shankman and Bill Mechanic signed on to producer the next year's Oscar ceremony, scheduled on March 7.

With the latest development, there is a need for a fresh host but this time it will be done in pair. Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin have been tapped to co-host the 82nd Academy Awards ceremony. The ceremony has had multiple hosts before, but this is the first time, according to The Hollywood Reporter, that two people will have hosted the Oscars while standing in the same room since the very first ceremony in 1929, when Douglas Fairbanks Jr. and William C. DeMille pulled double duty.

Martin has hosted the ceremony before on two occasions, but this will be Baldwin's first time.

It is unclear how this pair will work out when the duo are vying with each other for the Saturday Night Live guest hosting record. Both are funny guys that has great reputation.

We will see the duo again pretty soon when the two guys will play to compete against each other for Meryl Streep's affections in It's Complicated, coming this December.

"We think the team of Steve and Alec are the perfect pair of hosts for the Oscars,” Shankman and Mechanic said, as a single entity, in a statement. "Steve will bring the experience of having hosted the show in the past and Alec will be a completely fresh personality for this event."
