CASTING NEWS: SCREAM 4, KUNG FU PANDA 2, RISE OF THE APESR

In today's casting notes, we have Scream 4, Rise Of The Apes and Kung Fu Panda 2 to talk on.

SCREAM 4

First off, Wes Craven and Dimension Films have start casting for the movie Scream 4. The fourth installment of the killer series have boasted with younger of crops of talents in it along with the regulars Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox and David Arquette. Twilight-famed Ashley Greene has been offered a lead role Jill, who happens to be regular star Neve Campbell's role's cousin.

Others include Heroes' Hayden Panettiere who will play Jill's best friend, Rory Culkin as a guy who falls for Jill and Lake Bell will appear as a police officer who has a history with Campbell's Sidney Prescott. Filming is about to kick start this July in Michigan.

KUNG FU PANDA 2

Next, we have DreamWorks' animated feature, Kung Fu Panda 2. Joining the already casted Jack Black as Po on the sequel subtitled The Kaboom Of Doom, Gary Oldman will play a mysterious Peacock.

In the sequel, Po will searches for other pandas and runs afoul of a group of bandits. Peacock arrives to help Po to track down the bad guys although later it was revealed that Peacock has an agenda of his own. The sequel will be up next June.

RISE OF THE APES


James Franco's name has been linked up to various project these days but there is still a room for one more. James Franco has been in talk to be casted in the upcoming 20th Century Fox prequel take on the ever popular Planet Of The Apes series. In the prequel Rise Of The Apes, Rupert Wyatt is directing and will follows human scientists performing genetic experiments on apes in modern-day San Francisco. Naturally, things go badly wrong and agressive, intelligent simians are the result, which sparks a conflict between the two species.

The movie is in rush to be ready by next June. Considering that they have roughly a year to wrap it all up, the team from Weta are signed up to provide CG monkeys. In the mean time, James Franco's name is also rumoured to be linked to the comedy production of Ricky Stanicky too.
