THE DARK KNIGHT RISES TO BEGIN PRODUCTION IN MAY

The production of the third Nolan's Batman movie is pretty much on pace. We know that franchise stars like Christian Bale, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine will be returning for the threequel while Tom Hardy has been granted entry in an unspecific lead role. So is everything in order for the third Batman movie?

As reported in Screen Rant, Caine spoke to Empire Online and revelaed that the Nolan Brothers (Christopher and Jonathan that's it) have planned the production of The Dark Knight Rises to start on the summer, around May 2011 and due to finish over the course of six months.
Emma [Thomas], the producer, said we'd get the script in January. Christopher said: 'Script in January, shoot in May, finish in November.'
Michael Caine, Empire Online.

With the window between now till May, this gave Nolan ample time to enable Nolan and his longtime director of photography Wally Pfister to possibly shoot The Dark Knight Rises entirely in IMAX format. There are recent positive development from IMAX where they are aiming to enable an IMAX camera system that is smaller, compact and handy to shoot.

On another note, Tom Hardy has been heavily rumored to take on the role of Hugo Strange. Strange indeed but a good call if this turns out to be true. Well, it is still a rumor, according to Batman News.
