GHOSTBUSTER 3 CASTING CALLING, COULD GO INTO PRODUCTION IN 2011

Ghostbuster 3 has been quite under the radar for so long. Not long ago, Green Tea Movie reported the project will be moving forward by Sony Pictures before Bill Murray once shot down the production as rumors. It's been more than a year in fact that we last talked about it but it since like mow we may get the production jump starts.

According to Screen Rant, Sony Pictures has reportedly sent out a casting call to Los Angeles and Chicago actors, in preparation for the start of Ghostbuster 3 production. It is rumored that the movie may start shooting this May.

We have no problem to say that despite the 2 decades gap between the second and the new Ghostbuster movies, considering that it is getting common for the Hollywood to look back the 80's archives for reboot, sequel or remake attempts. We do know that the original franchise stars Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson and Sigourney Weaver will be returning for the new movie. So far, the plot written by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky is laid out as follows:
A ragtag group of paranormal researchers reopen their notorious ghost removal service, and a new generation of Ghostbusters is brought on board to be green slimed and trained to contain the mischievous spirits.
In the meantime, Ghostbusters 3 may see a new face. Actress Anna Farris is also listed (probably still a rumor) while we have no idea what role she has in the movie. Ivan Reitman, the original director of the two movies will return to the helming role. Sony Pictures is aiming to release Ghostbusters 3 in theaters by Christmas 2012.
