DUNCAN JONES' SOURCE CODE OPENS SXSW 2011

If you have not watched last year's Moon, chances are you will never knew who Duncan Jones is. Chances are you might not knew him as the rock star David Bowie's son. Moon was an intriguing science fiction film which starred Sam Rockwell but I was surprised that it was slipped away from the Oscar's attention.

It's alright. We are about to have a new material from Duncan Jones. His second film as a director, Source Code is due to open this March's SXSW 2011 Festival. The movie will have a world premiere on March 11, 2011, the opening night of the fest.

SXSW or known as The South by Southwest (SXSW) Film Conference and Festival has announced that Source Code, the new sci-fi thriller about a soldier (Gyllenhaal) becomes part of an experimental government program that is investigating a train bombing in an attempt to prevent a future bombing from occurring.

The movie's synopsis is as follows:
When decorated soldier Captain Colter Stevens (Gyllenhaal) wakes up in the body of an unknown man, he discovers he’s part of a mission to find the bomber of a Chicago commuter train. In an assignment unlike any he’s ever known, he learns he’s part of a government experiment called the “Source Code,” a program that enables him to cross over into another man’s identity in the last 8 minutes of his life. With a second, much larger target threatening to kill millions in downtown Chicago, Colter re-lives the incident over and over again, gathering clues each time, until he can solve the mystery of who is behind the bombs and prevent the next attack.
