WARNER BROS PURCHASES RIGHTS TO NONPLAYER

With Harry Potter movie franchise ended recently with the release of the eight movie entitled Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, Warner Bros is now looking for a new potential studio tentpole. Considering Harry Potter has generated more than $7 billion of box office for the studio, not including other revenues throughout a decade of the franchise existence, Warner Bros announced that they have purchased the rights to Nate Simpson's Image comic book series Nonplayer, according to a report on Coming Soon.

Nonplayer is a six issue miniseries, for which Nate Simpson describes it as another teenage-fueled fantasy series that revolves around the online gaming. Here’s the official plot synopsis:

"Mid-21st century America doesn't have much to offer Dana Stevens, but there's plenty for her to live for inside Warriors of Jarvath, the world's most popular full-immersion online game. In the real world, she's a tamale delivery girl who still lives with her mom, but inside the game she's an elite assassin. When she gets the drop on King Heremoth, a celebrity non-player character, she thinks she's finally got a shot at fame. But when she slays Queen Fendra, the King's reaction is disconcertingly realistic. Something's amiss in Jarvath, and the effects may reverberate well beyond the boundaries of the game."

The series is currently been presented by David Heyman to the studio and is currently attached to produce the movie adaptation with Roy Lee. Heyman is best known for his role to bring J.K. Rowling’s beloved Harry Potter series into the screen adaptation with huge success. No other information regarding the possible movie adaptation yet but Green Tea Movie will update you for more once we heard more of it.
