Words have just come in. The first official teaser trailer for Universal's upcoming 'The Bourne Legacy' has debuted online. The Jeremy Renner-starring action thriller has definitely been one of the most talked about movies in recent months. Unfortunately, nothing can stop the skepticism of the movie series since the long-time fan-favorite anchor Matt Damon has passed out; instead passing the baton to Renner. If your skepticism remains at all levels high at the moment, perhaps watch the trailer embedded right after the jump to convince yourself if this trip worth a go.

The doubts are always there, but perhaps you can trust the guidance of Tony Gilroy has poured into this spin off installment. Gilroy is the writer who helps to set up the first three installment for Jason Bourne (Matt Damon) to marvel over the years in this gritty exciting trilogy. Now comes a new dawn now and Universal Pictures has decided to treat 'Legacy' as a parallel story arc installment for the trilogy. This picture will have Renner starring as Alex Cross, that someone whom possessed a somewhat similar skill like Jason Bourne himself.
As the synopsis goes:
The narrative architect behind the Bourne film series, Tony Gilroy, takes the helm in the next chapter of the hugely popular espionage franchise that has earned almost $1 billion at the global box office: The Bourne Legacy. The writer/director expands the Bourne universe created by Robert Ludlum with an original story that introduces us to a new hero (Jeremy Renner) whose life-or-death stakes have been triggered by the events of the first three films. For The Bourne Legacy, Renner joins fellow series newcomers Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton, Stacy Keach and Oscar Isaac, while franchise veterans Albert Finney, Joan Allen, David Strathairn and Scott Glenn reprise their roles.

The Bourne Legacy will release on August 3, 2012 in the United States and August 9, 2012 here in Malaysia.
