JUSTICE LEAGUE WILL HAVE THE WACHOWSKIS INSTEAD?

Three weeks ago, Green Tea Movie reported that actor-turn-director Ben Affleck was in serious talk to direct DC Comics' Justice League film. Turns out, it is not true and merely just a juicy gossip. Affleck said in a statement with 24 Hours Vancouver that:

"I'm not working on the Justice League. One of the problems with entertainment web sites is that they need to fill pages, and that's how rumours get started."

While Ben Affleck's involvement is put to rest, it turns out that another new name has popped up. The Wachowskis who is fresh from finishing Cloud Atlas, is now the contender for the job.

The Wachowskis, consisting of the sibling Andy and Lana has some tremendous work records with Warner Bros over the decade. The Matrix trilogy, released in 1999 to 2003 was a bold success that has earned cult status ever since and leveraged the duo into an international mainstream success. Other works like V for Vendetta (2006), Speed Racer (2008) and Ninja Assassin (2009) were mild successes in between.

Just like Marvel's The Avengers, DC and Warner Bros. need proven directors to helm the project with viable directing skills and multi-faceted storytelling. The Wachowskis' selection can be described as intriguing as the duo has established an incredible base for visual. Add in the fact that most probably because the studio has seen amazed by the works the duo have done on Cloud Atlas, The Wachowski is most likely one of the appropriate ones to helm this. Between Cloud Atlas and Justice League, they share the notion of having plenty of characters to move and zigzagging between the stories.

Like I have said in my previous entry, to materialize Justice League project, Warner Bros needs to sort out a few problems about the stand-off characters which inconsistently been made. Things in DC Comics look pretty messy and unorganized, that perhaps someone should start laying out a proper plans before things can get running smoother. Thus, is The Wachowskis the best for this job? Let us speculate.
