This past week (beginning 6 December till today) saw a massive amount of blockbuster trailers been released. Some are merely teaser but others are quite a comprehensive presentation. In this special post, we have collected all the latest trailers for titles like Star Trek Into Darkness, Man of Steel, G.I. Joe Retaliation, Oblivion and many more. Catch these trailers right after the jump.
MAN OF STEEL
Christopher Nolan certainly infuses many of his signature elements into this goosebump spectacular trailer. Zack Snyder should have no problem in handling this film and could easily be his career-ressurecting feature. Man of Steel sets for release on 14 June 2013 with Zack Snyder directing and Christopher Nolan producing. Cast includes Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Michael Shannon, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane and Laurence Fishburne.
STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS
It may not have the best subtitle but Into Darkness is no doubt a must watch when it is released on 17 May 2013 with JJ Abrams does what he do best. After the crew of the Enterprise find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction. Cast includes Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Anton Yelchin, John Cho and Benedict Cumberbatch in a rumored role as the mega villain John Harrison.
OBLIVION
This graphic novel adaptation stars Tom Cruise and Morgan Freeman. Jack Harper (Tom Cruise) is one of the last few drone repairmen stationed on Earth. Part of a massive operation to extract vital resources after decades of war with a terrifying threat known as the Scavs, Jack’s mission is nearly complete. Living in and patrolling the skies from thousands of feet above, his soaring existence is brought crashing down when he rescues an attractive female stranger from a downed spacecraft. Her arrival triggers a chain of events that forces him to question everything he knows and puts the fate of humanity in his hands. Joseph Kosinski directs. Releases on April 12.
AFTER EARTH
A science fiction thriller by M. Night Shyamalan, probably no. But this one has Will Smith and his son Jaden in it. Could this spells a similar career-ressurecting feature for Shyamalan, probably. One thousand years after cataclysmic events forced humanity's escape from Earth, Nova Prime has become mankind's new home. Legendary General Cypher Raige (Will Smith) returns from an extended tour of duty to his estranged family, ready to be a father to his 13-year-old son, Kitai (Jaden Smith). When an asteroid storm damages Cypher and Kitai's craft, they crash-land on a now unfamiliar and dangerous Earth. As his father lies dying in the cockpit, Kitai must trek across the hostile terrain to recover their rescue beacon. His whole life, Kitai has wanted nothing more than to be a soldier like his father. Today, he gets his chance. After Earth releases on June 7, 2013.
PACIFIC RIM
Guillermo del Toro's latest science fiction offering is the Pacific Rim. The film is set in a world where soldiers piloting giant robots battle against giant monsters who have mysteriously risen from beneath the ocean. When this project was announced, I have trouble imagining how this movie could ends up. But the result is this. Pacific Rim stars Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day, Rob Kazinsky, Max Martini and
Ron Perlman. Pacific Rim opens on July 12, 2013.
