NEWS: MARVEL STUDIOS' ANNOUNCES REVISION ON THE THIRD PHASE OF MCU

A week after the release of the much awaited Avengers: Age of Ultron's teaser trailer, we now have more details as Marvel Studios is pushing the Third Phase button as we speak. Marvel Studios and Walt Disney set and revise release dates for eight movies while the third Captain America movie remains on its default date of 6 May 2016. Among the list, there are four new standalone features which include Doctor Strange, Black Panther, Inhumans and Captain Marvel. The third Avengers movie will be split into two - which looks like a trend nowadays. The release dates for all the Third Phase features will be available after the jump.


All the movies announced are as follow:


"Captain America: Civil War" (May 6, 2016)
It seems to confirm by now that the third Cap movie will be drawn from the Civil War comic arc.


"Doctor Strange" (Nov. 4, 2016)
Benedict Cumberbatch has yet to confirm his role as Doctor Strange


"Guardians of the Galaxy 2" (May 5, 2017)
Release date moved from 27 July 2017 to reap on its box office success. Thanos is rumoured to be the villain and Peter Quill's father is not the same as in the comics.


"Thor: Ragnarok" (July 27, 2017)
Replaces GOTG 2's original release date. The title is clearly drawn from the Ragnarok's comic and being the new villain. Ragnarok is a clone of Thor if you want to ask. Loki (Tom Hiddlestone) is back and Loki's scepter is confirmed as one of the Infinity Stones.


"Black Panther" (Nov. 3, 2017)
Studio announces Chadwick Boseman to don the role and could possibly have a role in Captain America 3.


"Marvel's The Avengers: Infinity War Part 1" (May 4, 2018)
Part one of the third Avengers which is going to be epic. The title is obvious. Thanos is coming.


"Captain Marvel" (July 6, 2018)
Studio announces its first female-lead Captain Marvel's feature.


"Inhumans" (Nov. 2, 2018)
Much like the previous rumours. No surprise.

"Marvel's The Avengers: Infinity War Part 2" (May 3, 2019)
Part two of the third Avengers and the last to be scheduled by Marvel at this moment.

With the addition of the new slates of movie from Marvel Studios, the timeline for the whole comic book movies is now becoming even more jam-pack. 28 comic book movies will be released between 2015 and 2020. Do check the full list of comic book movies from Marvel and DC Comics below:
