Plot: Ryan, Wade and Emmit attend their first day at high school and they're pumped... until they meet up with Filkins, a school bully who comes off like a little Hannibal Lecter. Before they become completely engulfed in Filkins' reign of terror, they seek out some protection by placing an ad in Soldier of Fortune magazine. Their best response - and the cheapest - comes from Drillbit Taylor, a down-on-his luck soldier of fortune who lives a homeless - he likes to say "home-free" - existence on the beach. He enrolls them in some physical and mental training.
Our Verdict:
Green Tea says:
Judd Apatow, fresh from asking us to forget Sarah Marshall but this time wants us to remember Drillbit Taylor. Another sexual explicit movie? Nope, but it is more in the sense of dark teenage comedy again - but this one subjected to the popular theme of school bullying. When things become worst than ever, you turn to hiring a professional bodyguard for some protection and you give Drillbit a chance to kick those bullies ass. Well done, the story has single theme focussing on bully while several theme that doesn't really work. The romance of teachers, first crush and etc only serve to decorate the movie and expanding the issues but merely nothing important to the story basic feature. Owen been the only draw for the main star you recognize but the the stage also goes to the three bully victims - the losers and nerdy. Well as cheap as it is to hire Drillbit to protect you, you can use this one to kill the time and get some mild laughter, and probably some Owen Wilson. This is just awesome, no where near Sarah Marshall. Less explicit but it has its wunderkind as well.
