NEIL PATRICK HARRIS JOINS THE SMURFS

Neil Patrick Harris, a popular central actor from the TV sitcom How I Met Your Motherhas reported to have join the casting of the upcoming Sony's new CG/live-action of The Smurfs. He will not voice the blue critter but instead he will play a human role in the new film.

The shooting is only expected to start this April while it was scheduled for a release next year. The movie will be anchored by director Raja Gosnell (Home Alone 3, Beverly Hills Chihuahua). There isn't much reporting to do because this is merely a casting news.

Harris, who plays the womanizer Barney in the popular TV sitcoms has also some cameos in films in the past including one in Harold & Kumar
