INTERNATIONAL TEASER FOR TINKER, TAILOR, SOLDIER, SPY

Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy is an upcoming film directed by Swedish filmmaker Thomas Alfredson; which is itself based on the 1974 novel of the same name by John le Carre. In case you do not know who Thomas Alfredson is, he is the man who helm one of my favorite Swedish movie of all time - the disturbing adaptation of Let the Right One In (Lat den ratte komma in). Few years ago, Alfredson made some international headlines with his critical direction that showcased his ability and attentive nature for the source material. It is unfortunate that the horror flick missed out from most major award season, rather basking itself with some commendable awards. This year however, Alfredson might have another shot for Oscar, as many have deemed it as one of the potential front runner.

The international teaser of the British's Working Title Films and French's StudioCanal production is now online, courtesy of Coming Soon. Watch the trailer after the jump.

The film stars Gary Oldman as George Smiley who comes out of semi-retirement to uncover a Russian agent. The movie is set in the aftermath of the cold war and tells the tale of a spy-hunt within the highest echelons of the British Secret Intelligence Service. The political thriller also stars Ciaran Hinds (as Roy Bland), Jared Harris, Colin Firth (as Bill Haydon), Tom Hardy (as Ricki Tarr), Benedict Cumberbatch (as Peter Guillam), Mark Strong (as Jim Prideaux) and Svetlana Khodchenko.

Now, you can watch the teaser embedded below:

The movie opens on September 16 in the United Kingdom and November 18 in the United States. Focus Features handles the distribution of the film for North American release. There is no words on Malaysian release yet.
