After days of basking ourselves with the unauthorized teaser trailer for the upcoming The Dark Knight Rises, now it seems that the high-quality and legitimate teaser trailer has been uploaded by Warner Bros. With the delays, it seems imminent that the Warner Bros was busy counting money from the huge opening of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2 that they forgot to put this online earlier. No matter what is the reason behind the delay, you can watch it here on Green Tea Movie, right after the jump.
It's been a long wait and we have a much better quality on the teaser itself. As we have all known, The Dark Knight Rises is one of the most anticipated movie of 2012 which pulls on a full circle to conclude the story in a spectacular way. The Batman series never received such a heightened interest until Christopher Nolan comes in with style and visionary. The Dark Knight Rises, sequel to Batman Begins (2005) and The Dark Knight (2008) will promises audience with a big fare of all-star performances and actions with starring that include Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Juno Temple, Josh Pence, Daniel Sunjata, Nestor Carbonell, Matthew Modine, Tom Conti, Joey King, Brett Cullen, Chris Ellis and Josh Stewart.
I hate to say this, I do not like this trailer at all. It gives in zero storyline and absolutely nothing to be expected from it, hence which is why we called it a teaser trailer after all. The opening scene takes the audience back into the early days of Batman series by revisiting some remarkable lines from Ras al Ghul (Liam Neeson) from Batman Begins. Then several card titles about the theme LEGEND. Then, we fast-forwarded into a scene appears to be a conversation between a sick or in-pain Commissioner Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman) and someone presumably Batman or Bruce Wayne. At this point I am not able to pin-point the Gordon actually said the lines to Batman or Bruce Wayne in disguise of another identity, but all I know is that he is talking to Christian Bale's character.
In case if you do not get what Commissioner Jim Gordon said, here is the transcript:
Jim Gordon: We were in this together, and then you were gone. And now this evil rises. Batman must come back.
Bruce Wayne/Batman: What if he doesn't exist anymore?
Jim Gordon: He must... he must...
Nevertheless, if you are trying to find anything else, you won't. Following Nolan's way of marketing strategy, this teaser mimics the teaser trailer of The Dark Knight which offered only voice dialogues. Yes, you can watch that here. I know how Christopher Nolan will be playing things very close to his chest and how he will do everything to keep the story secretly. Unfortunately, it looks like if you want to know some story, you have to wait and the wait shall be the only reward. At the moment, I'm sold even if this teaser trailer is not what I am expecting and is not at my favorite moment to kick start the "fanboy" mood. I am sure more interesting marketing would be deployed.
The Dark Knight Rises is coming to the theaters on July 20, 2012.
