Steven Soderbergh's upcoming disease epidemiology and sci-fi thriller Contagion is one of the most low-profile movie that will be coming out this Fall. It lays off pretty well low coupled with the fact that Contagion is absence from proper news rumors, plot and even some image stills. So to say, Contagion is rather mysterious. Nevertheless, Warner Bros has unveiled their second trailers of their movies this week, after Sherlock Holmes 2 yesterday. Here comes Contagion, which you can view right after the jump.
The first trailer gives in a few key points here. Firstly, no one seems to be ignored by the fact that the film boasts an all-star international cast - Kate Winslet, Marion Cotillard, Matt Damon, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jude Law, Laurence Fishburne and Bryan Cranston. Secondly, the structure of the story on the trailer transits from been a standard human drama to medical science fiction and finally evolved into something more or less of been horror of deserted planet. Thirdly, the trailers sends out a clear focus on what we should expect from the movie. Once you done, you will get more feelings to think that Contagion looks more "28 days Later" than "Outbreak".
Unfortunately, the trailer gives in too much information. Make no mistake, it is cool trailer but there are just too much story been spoiled. Now we know what is going to happen to Matt Damon and Gwyneth Paltrow, or probably up to the extent of Marion Cotillard.
Anyway, Steven Soderbergh directs the sci-fi thriller from the screenplay by Scott Z Burns. It opens in the United States on September 9, 2011 while it opens here on October 20.
