NICK FROST IS THE FINAL DWARF IN UNIVERSAL SNOW WHITE PROJECT

The Universal Picture's set up for Snow White and the Huntsman is one of the two Snow White-themed projects in the Hollywood now. The other is been Tarsem Singh-directed film which is set up under Relativity Media. Few weeks ago, we speculated that there will be eight dwarfs in the Universal's side - only seven was cast. We thought that Universal may be waiting for the right moment to announce the eighth dwarf casting. It seems that maybe it is materialized now. The word "maybe" is used because there are some contradiction on two sources. Nevertheless, Nick Frost is the last to join. Details after the jump.

As always, Green Tea Movie recommends you to read this short article that separates the two Snow White projects, so that you don't get lost or confused.

Slash Film reported that the deal is finalized to have Nick Frost (Paul, Shaun of the Dead, Attack the Block) in the movie; what appears to be playing the eighth dwarf in the movie. Previously, big British acts like Ian McShane, Stephen Graham, Toby Jones; to a few, were cast to fill in the roles. Here are the complete list once again:
  • Ian McShane as Caesar: the eldest, with the longest beard.
  • Stephen Graham as Nero: the angry one.
  • Eddie Izzard as Tiberius: the biggest and burliest.
  • Eddie Marsan and Ray Winstone as Hadrian and Trajan, respectively: the twins.
  • Bob Hoskins as Constantine: solemn and blind.
  • Toby Jones as Claudius: the timid one.
With Nick Frost involvement. it seems likely that he is cast for the role Gus. Gus is a young, unbearded, seemingly smitten with Snow White.

Variety has a different out-take on this matter. They reported that Nick frost is the seventh (I thought it was confusing since Eddie Izzard's name is no longer on their list of dwarf's appearance) and final dwarf. Probably, Eddie Izzard may have bow out of the casting due to some problems and no one heard anything about it!

Snow White and the Huntsman is the first of the planned trilogy that puts Universal Pictures on the charge to tweak the popular old fairytale. Shooting will commence soon for a summer 2012 release.

Rupert Sanders will direct Snow White and the Huntsman from a script by Evan Daugherty. The movie will follows Eric, the Huntsman (Chris Hemsworth) been charged by the evil queen (Charlize Theron) with killing Snow White (Kristen Stewart). Instead of killing her, Eric mentors her in the ways of survival and combat. Sam Claflin (Ian McShane’s co-star in the latest Pirates of the Caribbean film) will play the Prince in the movie. The cast also features Lily Cole as a character named Greta and Sam Spruell as Finn, the Queen’s henchman sent to kill the Huntsman and Snow White.
