RECAPTURING YELLOW SUBMARINE IN ZEMECKIS WAY

The director for Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Back To The Future and Contact has announced the plan to render a modern contemporary and signature performance capture style to one of the movie The Beatles has ever been featured before. Robert Zemeckis has an interesting deal with Disney for a possible remake of Yellow Submarine. The remake will see a possible Lion King-style of animation, a comeback for such animation while many of us going gaga on 3D animation.

The original Yellow Submarine was a 1968 animation about the Fab Four which helped him to launch their Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band phenomenon album back then. However, none of the member provided any voice work for the animation.

According to EO online; Zemeckis, though, seems to have secured rights to classic Beatles tracks like All You Need Is Love, Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds, Baby, You're A Rich Man and All Together Now. However no words on any involvement of Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, the two surviving Beatles will be attached to the project yet.

But at the moment, we're in the dark about this. It's very early days yet, negotiations are still ongoing, and that seems to be all the news that's fit to print, save that the movie should be ready before the 2012 Olympics.
