Alex Garland is currently writing a draft on Judge Dredd, a news that comes with no surprise since the movie has been a limelight project under Danny Boyle’s DNA Film. According to Twitter, the project was confirmed by Mark Simpson, the British comic artist guru whom has worked extensively on Dredd strips for 2000AD and has been uptight with concept art for the new film.

His Twitter is as follow – “Working through script visuals for Judge Dredd movie. Alex Garland writes a great script”.

Judge Dredd, if you never heard of it is a dystopian police-state satire has been running in the weekly 2000AD comic since 1977, and has also had its own monthly 'Megazine' since 1990. A movie adaptation was made if you remember and we have Mr Sylvester Stallone and Rob Schneider in it back in the year 1995.

We are not sure if this is a remake or not. But instinct tells me that this is probably a good idea to be rebooted – and I also feel that perhaps Robocop would need the similar treatment as well. What says you?
