TRAILERS TIME WITH BOONDOCK AND DEFENDOR

This week, the trailers that will be featured in this chill Friday in this movie blog are both come out from an indie film company - imdependently funded and released at this Fall. we seldom talks about indie film but not after what we have enjoyed so much on District 9. Here we have Defendor (yes, spell with an 'o' instead of an 'e') and Bonddock 2 (I have not seen the first one).

DEFENDOR (Alliance Film)

First of all - Defendor. A Canadian comedy due to premiered at the 2009 Toronto International Film Festival in September. The movie is directed by Peter Stebbings, and starring Woody Harrelson, Kat Dennings and Sandra Oh.

The premise of the movie is about Arthur Poppington, a regular but disillusioned man who believes that he is a superhero named Defendor. He combs the city streets at night in search of his arch enemy, Captain Industry, befriending a young prostitute in his quest.

THE BOONDOCK SAINTS 2: ALL SAINT'S DAY

This movie is awesome - judging by the trailer and the reception it got during the Comic Con in San Diego recently. It will not be surprising if this will make impact more than the first critically-panned movie - 1999's The Boondock Saints. The director of the original film, Troy Duffy, returned to film the sequel, which sees the return of Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus as Irish brothers who act as vigilantes. The film is set to hit theaters October 30, 2009.

The sequel continues writer and director Troy Duffy's saga of fraternal twins, the MacManus brothers. The two have been in deep hiding in the quiet valleys of Ireland, far removed from their former lives or modern technologies. When word comes that a priest has been killed by sinister forces in the tough underworld of Boston, they return to mount a violent and bloody crusade to bring justice to those who must now suffer the consequences, with a new partner in crime (Clifton Collins, Jr.) and a FBI operative (Julie Benz).
