In the cloudy future, the troubles in the set of Bourne 4 at Universal studio may have led Paul Greengrass, the director of the previous Bourne trilogy series, to depart from directing the fourth installment. The rumour has that creative differences and dissatisfaction with Universal's decision to develop dual scripts.
However, this is what Greengrass has to say:
“My decision to not return a third time as director is simply about feeling the call for a different challenge. There's been no disagreement with Universal Pictures. The opportunity to work with the Bourne family again is a difficult thing to pass up, but we have discussed this together and they have been incredibly understanding and supportive.
“I've been lucky enough to have made four films for Universal, and our relationship continues. Jason Bourne existed before me and will continue, and I hope to remain involved in some capacity as the series moves on."
Now this is adding a suicide note to the studio following the troubles to take the staring block for the movie. The development of Bourne 4 is currently hampered with scheduling issues and the aforementioned script troubles. That, and the small matter of Matt Damon not yet being committed to star.
Another false start!
