Sam Mendes, an Oscar-winning director for films like American Beauty, Revolutinary Road and Road To Perdition has been associated with the yet-untitled Bond 23. Mendes, a British director is currently in negotiation with EON's Michael Wilson and Barbara Broccoli to direct.
If Mendes does signs on, the Bond franchise will saw a return to a British director after the last Quantum of Solace, has German-born Swiss Marc Foster on the helm. Despite bringing Quantum of Solace into the second most successful Bond movie ever, the film was slapped with cold response from critics and fans.
If everything is settled, the production may begin this June for 2011 release. Daniel Craig will return as Bond, Dame Judi Dench will also return as M and the script has been written by Peter Morgan, Neal Purvis and Robert Wade.
