MGM is pretty much a bada**. Their financial battle for survival has already enough to make the production of The Hobbit (Peter Jackson’s production with Guillermo del Toro on director seat) to make a fingernail bite on when their adventure could start rolling in. Some say at the end of this year but I am currently aware that the project is “delayed indefinitely” although dismissed by Jackson few days ago.
Can I add another one into the list of “indefinite delayed MGM’s list”? Well, you have no choice because I am about to. It looks like James Bond 23th outing is not going to happen anyway sooner. EON’s Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli put a joint statement as follow:
It’s unfortunate that the related news such as casting of Rachel Weisz as one of the villainous leaders in Quantum and attachment of Sam Mendes for the director job could go to the trash bin after all. Well, I am confident that we will be able to see the next outing for Bond – it’s a matter of when. Then, we shall wait.

Due to the continuing uncertainty surrounding the future of MGM and the failure to close a sale of the studio, we have suspended development on Bond 23 indefinitely. We do not know when development will resume and do not have a date for the release of the film.
