Oh really, after a string of modestly accepted horror film remakes at Platinum Dunes, Michael Bay aiming for the next thing to be made - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. TMNT's rights was bought by Paramount last year from the then-holder Mirage and now this announcement is really fresh indeed. The new TMNT live action film is not something fresh in the rumour circulation and has been in talking for awhile.
Paramount/Nicelodeon is aiming to bring the latest film on TMNT together Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes on board. Michael Bay's production studio has been experiencing some reworking on past horror hits like the recent remake of A Nightmare On Elm Street and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and some current projects like I Am Number Four, the Turtle films came as surprising to me.
The new TMNT, in unsure of its direction yet. Could it be a remake, re-launch. or continuing the form it has been? But things at Paramount is inclining for a fresher take of the beloved ninja turtles tale - complete with a new version of the origins of the turtle story, while conceivably taking their look and feel back to the original comics crafted by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird.
