According to 20th Century Fox, Andy Serkis who was popular as Gollum/Smeagol in the Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy will return to team up with the WETA Digital team again for Rise of the Apes. The prequel film is now picking up some more momentum as they head for a summer production very soon. The studio announced on Twitter that Andy Serkis will do the performance capture for Caesar. On the previous post about this movie, we mentioned that Caesar is one of the test subject in which James Franco's role rescued from other scientist due to his rapid evolution. It becomes clear now that Caesar will go on to lead the simian revolt against humanity.
This is cool: Gollum reteams with Weta. Andy Serkis to star as Caesar in "Rise of the Apes," portraying chimp who leads the simian revolt.
