IRVIN KERSHNER R.I.P. (1923-2010)

Another sad day at the Hollywood. Irvin Kershner, the American film director and occasional actor, best known for directing Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, Never Say Never Again and RoboCop 2, has passed away on November 29. He was 87 years old.

Kershner is not a household name considering that he isn't as glamourous as the other veteran director like Clint Eastwood. Nevertheless, Kershner is a delicate and thorough with his cinematic skills. Kershner built a respectable career after been offered a chance to direct the second Star Wars movie by producer George Lucas. The result was striking and successful with many lauded The Empire Strikes Back as one of the best Star Wars movie of all time.

His goddaughter Adriana Santini, who lives in France, did not specified the cause of death. AFP meanwhile reports that Kershner had been suffering from a chronic illness. Anyway, Hollywood hast lost two big stars over the course of 24 hours. This morning, Green Tea Movie reported the death of the legendary comedian Leslie Nielsen. RIP for both gentlemen.
