SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON: HUGH JACKMAN, ROBERT RODRIGUEZ AND IN TIME

Do you know what is Green Tea Movie's top ambition all these while? Of course, it has been a great desire for me to attend and to cover the annual Comic-Con in San Diego that is. Unfortunately, Green Tea Movie will have to stick in Malaysia, so it will be another customary of seeing people having fun and reading people's experience at Comic-Con. No worry, even if I am not there, I am here to bring you some updates on the on-going Comic-Con 2011 at San Diego. Head over the jump to read the latest news, courtesy of Coming Soon to read on the updates on the Wolverine sequel, updates on Sin City 2 and posters for In Time.

#1: HUGH JACKMAN ON "A STEADY RAIN" AND "THE WOLVERINE"

Hugh Jackman during the promotional round for Real Steel at the Comic-Con

NEWS: Hugh Jackman is pretty busy at the Comic-Con, doing rounds of promotion on his latest "Real Steel" and has been updating us on the projects he will involved. He claimed that Steven Spielberg is interested to helm "A Steady Rain", an adaptation of Broadway's play of the same title into the silver screen. Keith Huff wrote the play which is now on the run for almost 12 weeks now, with Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig are the lead actors on the stage.

"A Steady Rain" focuses on two Chicago policemen who inadvertently return a Vietnamese boy to a cannibalistic serial killer who claims to be the child's uncle. When he later becomes the man's latest victim, the lifelong friendship of the two men is threatened when it becomes clear someone must bear responsibility for their egregious failure to assess the situation accurately.

Meanwhile, Jackman also spilled some beans about the troubled "Wolverine 2" project which may seems to be heading for production very soon, on October to be precise and mainly sets in Japan. Jackman also confirmed that the main villain in the sequel of the origin franchise would be Silver Samurai and has plenty of praise for the screenplay of The Wolverine written by Chris McQuarrie. Currently no release date nor director has been attached.

#3: NEW POSTERS FOR ANDREW NICCOL-DIRECTED THRILLER "IN TIME"

NEWS: Good news! It's now official that you can stop aging at 25. The catch is you need to steal or murder to remain immortal and stop aging. Therefore, time is both money and power. That is pretty much highlighted in the following posters released by Relativity Media. It looks great but also cliche in some ways. Hey, have a look at those posters embedded below:

From CS: In Time presents a world where time has become the ultimate currency. You stop aging at 25, but there's a catch: you're genetically-engineered to live only one more year, unless you can buy your way out of it. The rich "earn" decades at a time (remaining at age 25), becoming essentially immortal, while the rest beg, borrow or steal enough hours to make it through the day. When a man from the wrong side of the tracks is falsely accused of murder, he is forced to go on the run with a beautiful hostage. Living minute to minute, the duo's love becomes a powerful tool in their war against the system. Justin Timberlake, Amanda Seyfried, Cillian Muphy, Vincent Kartheiser, Alex Pettyfer, Johnny Galecki, Olivia Wilde and Matthew Bomer star.

REMARKS: October 28 in the United States, a day earlier in Malaysia.

#4: ROBERT RODRIGUEZ SAYS MACHETE AND SIN CITY SEQUELS ARE ON

NEWS: Robert Rodriguez has taken the center stage at Comic-Con to announce that the sequels to both Machete and Sin City are on the way.

First up, two Machete sequels were given a greenlight from the studio 20th Century Fox. The second installment is now entitled "Machete Kills" with the Mexican title character will be played once again, presumably by Danny Trejo. Rodriguez added that "Machete Kills" is the only guaranteed to have a full length feature on its own. The second sequel or part three entitled "Machete Kills Again... In Space!" was also given a green-light but will only be a fake trailer (at the moment) which will be included in "Machete Kills" He promised that it will include space babes and a lightsaber style weapon.

On a separate development, the sequel to the much awaited Sin City may see the shooting to commence as early as this year. Now entitled "Sin City: A Dame to Kill" will adapt from Frank Miller's story for which Rodriguez said that the script is now ready. Besides that, it will also feature two all-new stories set in the Sin City universe. The title for one of them was revealed for the first time as, The Long Bad Night. Not so much on the casting yet but we are sure that the characters of Marv (Mickey Rourke) and Nancy (Jessica Alba) will be featured once again. MTV Splashpage already run an article rumor that Angelina Jolie, Bruce Willis and Rachel Weisz might be joining the all-star studded comic adaptation for which you can read here.
