TRAILERS: THE PIRATES! BAND OF MISFIT, ARTHUR CHRISTMAS

After the release of two trailers from Warner Bros earlier this week which you can view here for Sherlock Holmes 2 and here for Contagion, we have plenty more new movie trailers coming up this week. It looks like studios are trying to pack the audience with valuable marketing by releasing trailers for their films. Making the list of four today are The Pirates! Band Of Misfit, Arthur Christmas, The Thing and John Carter. This post will feature the former two. The teaser for The Dark Knight Rises is still nowhere to be seen. Head after the jump to view the trailers.

THE PIRATES! BAND OF MISFIT

[SOURCE: Coming Soon] Sony Pictures has released the first trailer for Aardman animation project called "The Pirates! Band of Misfits" which will be opening in 2D and 3D next year. The animation will be Hugh Grant's first starring in an animated role, playing the bearded Pirate Captain, described as "a boundlessly enthusiastic, if somewhat less-than-successful, terror of the High Seas." Joining his crews of "Misfits!" are Martin Freeman, Brendan Gleeson, Russell Tovey and Ashley Jensen. The Captain has one dream: to beat his bitter rivals Black Bellamy (Jeremy Piven) and Cutlass Liz (Salma Hayek) to the much coveted Pirate Of The Year Award. It's a quest that takes our heroes from the shores of exotic Blood Island to the foggy streets of Victorian London. Along the way they battle a diabolical queen (Imelda Staunton) and team up with a haplessly smitten young scientist (David Tennant), but never lose sight of what a pirate loves best: adventure!

The trailer is embedded below, so enjoy before we roll the big thing:

Hey, the trailer is a good reminiscent of some fond memory of watching Wallace and Gromit, for which I like! No words on Malaysian release so far. It is now scheduled for March 30, 2012 release.

ARTHUR CHRISTMAS

Besides the stop motion affair with the pirates, Sony Pictures also released the teaser for the upcoming Christmas-themed animation from Aardman called "Arthur Christmas". The film is being directed by Sarah Smith, co-directed by Barry Cook, and it stars James McAvoy, Hugh Laurie, Jim Broadbent and Bill Nighy. Set on Christmas night, the story of Arthur Christmas (James McAvoy) revolves around Santa's ultra-high-tech operation hidden beneath the North Pole, his family and especially around his son, Arthur, an unlikely hero with a mission that must be completed before Christmas morning.

We have a teaser poster for you right here.

Now watch the trailer embedded below and try to avoid from the "teddy" bear please!

Arthur Christmas is arriving in the US cinemas on November 11, UK on November 23 and here in Malaysia on December 1.
