TRAILER: JOHN CARTER'S LATEST BRINGS SOMETHING ON THE TABLE

Walt Disney has unveiled the latest feature trailer from the upcoming Spring's adventure John Carter online. The latest trailer can be viewed right after the jump. The 121-second trailer gives the audience more on dialogue, actions and Mars. But one thing does bother me - a glowing red-yellow-green version of Avatar?

Based upon Edgar Rice Burroughs’s “John Carter: Warlord of Mars” novels, "Wall-E" director Andrew Stanton offers a slight expensive offering on the revisionism of the planet Mars, I have to say. "From novel to cinematic adaptation" is one of the toughest journey in movie making but partly, and somehow, I am impressed by the aesthetic look of the Martian, at least. However, I am still not convince how the story could fork to end up with as the current acceptance to the movie is quite lukewarm to begin with. With huge money been dumped (or invested) into John Carter, some estimating around US$ 200 to 250 million by Walt Disney, there is a lot of worries at the moment that all might be crash and burn! Of course, this is Disney and they can handle a good marketing but this supposedly tentpole-franchise might have a risk of becoming 'Sorceror's Apprentice' more than 'Prince of Persia'.

The trailer as I promised is here. Check this out and tell me what you think. Plus, I am throwing the new poster together with this post.

John Carter stars two X-Men Origins: Wolverine alumnus; Taylor Kirsch (Gambit) and Lynn Collins (Kayla Silverfox). Directed by Andrew Stanton, John Carter arrives on March 9 in the United States and a day earlier, tentatively in Malaysia.
