TRAILER: RESIDENT EVIL RETRIBUTION

To the US audience, those who are watching Underworld: Awakening will be fortunate to catch the first trailer for the upcoming horror fifth installment - Resident Evil: Retribution, bound to debut this September. For much of the last few months, the production of Resident Evil: Retribution has been kept under the blanket. For now, Sony Pictures has started the marketing campaign by enrolling the trailer to be attached with the release of Underworld 4. You can catch the trailer right after the jump.

The teaser trailer is embedded below:

In 2010, Resident Evil franchise received a boost with the introduction of 3D in its fourth installment; Afterlife. Two years later, Milla Jovovich is back in her comforting role of Alice in her mission to take down the Umbrella Corporation. Once again, Retribution will be directed by Paul W.S. Anderson (Jovovich's husband) and in 3D.

The trailer plays along a big advertorial that likens it to the first and second, even to the third installment where the first 20 seconds of the teaser trailer looks like an ordinary cream products or genetic-technology-based product advertisements. This time, the teaser incorporates some of the Sony's mobile products before the narrator posed a striking question about the future. There and then, the teaser kicks off with what it does best - plenty of CG and plenty of zombies.

Here is the full plot synopsis:
The Umbrella Corporation’s deadly T-virus continues to ravage the Earth, transforming the global population into legions of the flesh eating Undead. The human race’s last and only hope, Alice (Milla Jovovich), awakens in the heart of Umbrella’s most clandestine operations facility and unveils more of her mysterious past as she delves further into the complex. Without a safe haven, Alice continues to hunt those responsible for the outbreak; a chase that takes her from Tokyo to New York, Washington, D.C. and Moscow, culminating in a mind-blowing revelation that will force her to rethink everything that she once thought to be true. Aided by newfound allies and familiar friends, Alice must fight to survive long enough to escape a hostile world on the brink of oblivion. The countdown has begun.
This fifth movie will stars Jovovich as Alice, Sienna Guillory as Jill Valentine (the primary antagonist), Boris Kodjoe as Luther West, Michelle Rodriguez as Rain Ocampo, Colin Salmon as James "One" Shade and Oded Fehr as Carlos Olivera. This fifth installment in the popular series also will finally introduce fan-favorite franchise characters from the games including Leon Kennedy (Johann Urb) and Barry Burton (Kevin Durand).
