EDGAR WRIGHT AND J.J. ABRAMS GO FOR COLLIDER

There are always two points to be taken from J.J. Abrams' movie project. First, it always involved high talents like director John Dahl (Joy Ride), actor Tom Cruise (Mission: Impossible III and IV), writer-duo Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman (Star Trek), as well as producer Steven Spielberg (Super 8). Secondly, his movie projects are usually sealed tight with the highest and maximum security. J.J. Abrams, under the usual banner of Paramount Pictures is secretly (now known) developing a new sci-fi - Collider. More information available after the jump break.

Paramount Pictures announces today that they are recruiting producer J.J. Abrams (Star Trek), writer/director Edgar Wright (Scott Pilgrim) and co-writer Mark Protosevich (I Am Legend) for a sci-fi project entitled Collider. As I have mentioned in the opening of this post, Collider is yet another project that fits the bill - having three talented guys in the showbiz and is wrapped with mystery and secrecy.

With the addition of this project, it looks like Wright is embarking a very busy life from now on and at the same time may be frustrating Marvel fans. During the Comic-Con, he previewed his test footage for Marvel's Ant-Man which received some positive buzz. Marvel Studios has since hinted that Ant-Man will get a movie of its own as soon as 2014 to give three projects for Marvel for that year. Then, he was announced by Universal Pictures to direct The World's End (2014) with regular Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. Not surprisingly, his hectic schedule is even more complicated with the reboot of Night Stalker which Johnny Depp is set to star. Of course, this new project Collider as well. With so much projects in hand, I suspect that if all bound to happen in the next 2 years, he might be forced to reschedule, delay or even opt out. As far as it is concerned, only The World's End and Collider have been confirmed.

Green Tea Movie will update you on Edgar's projects as well as more from Collider from time to time. Up till now, no words on what Collider will be premised on.
