Don’t laugh. Hollywood is making Lego: The Piece of Resistance for 28 February 2014 release. Channing Tatum (21 Jump Street) (still rumoured), Chris Pratt (Moneyball) and Will Arnett (Despicable Me) are rounding up the primary roles playing Superman Lego, Emmet and Batman Lego, respectively. Now, Warner Bros. adds Elizabeth Banks and Morgan Freeman on the secondary roles.
According to Deadline, Elizabeth Banks (The Hunger Games) and Morgan Freeman (The Dark Knight Rises) have been recruited to add vocal powers to Lego, with Freeman is to play a Lego guy called Vitruvius. Sounds like an old man indeed!
When Lego was first rumoured, sceptics believed that it won’t work. Well recent dismay results of some of the popular games or toys adaptation seems to suggest so (Re: Battleship). Things turn into a brighter side when Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the duo from Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and 21 Jump Street was attached to direct and to write. Then comes on-board Dan and Kevin Hageman to co-write, this looks like a winner. Warner Bros is obviously taking advantage of this movie’s tie-in with DC Comics, hence the superhero characters Superman and Batman will be appearing in this.
