This is a movie project which I have been very skeptical even when I first heard of it. I do not realize that time has fly so quickly - that all this murmurs about World of Warcraft (WoW) movie adaptation has been started since 2007 when Warner Bros' own Legendary Pictures has been putting this project on the wheel. Sam Raimi, at that time, was attached to direct. Unfortunately, Raimi recently has stated that he may no longer attached as the production seems stalled for years now. But things are about to change though as WB has hired a new screenwriter. Does it mean we will get a WoW movie?
The answer is probably yes if Charles Leavitt can get the script right and the result pleases the studio. Leavitt was hired by the studio, according to Slash Film, and is hopefully will jump start the project and to use the new script to bait a new director. Sam Raimi was originally attached in 2009 with the first draft from Saving Private Ryan scribe Robert Rodat but things went stagnant after that.
