COCO BEATS JUSTICE LEAGUE FOR THANKSGIVING GOLD

The box office in the North America was pretty rosy over the weekend - thanks to the extended Thanksgiving holiday that marks the beginning of the yuletide season.

As expected, the DC Comic's own Avengers "Justice League" is not doing that well, losing to the Pixar's newcomer "Coco" on the second weekend and dropping by 59% following the $96 million last week. With mediocre critical and significantly good audience reception, the odds are not in the favour of the team to retain first place.

Last week's opening was not that grand, considering that Marvel's The Avengers did more than double back in 2012. Instead, Pixar's own Dia de Muertos-themed musical adventure "Coco" gobbles up the fourth biggest Thanksgiving opening ever behind "Frozen", "Toy Story 2" and "Moana". The opening of $71 million in 5 days could boast a possible $210 million earning in the Stateside by the end of its theatrical run.

Meanwhile, going third is Stephen Chbosky's drama "Wonder", from the distributor Lionsgate which stars Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson. The drama holds very well on its second week with only 19% reduction to $22.3 million for this weekend receipt. Thor and friends are still flexing some muscle respectable holds at fourth place.
