SPIELBERG ON HARVEY, NOT HELM

Few days ago, GreenTeaMovie reported that Matt Helm, a novel series about a counter-agent created by Donald Hamilton was in the hands of Steven Spielberg. Now, it was confirmed that the man himself will only be heating up the producer seat because several sources has quoted that Spielberg’s next directing role will be Harvey, not Helm.

Harvey is a story of the middle-aged eccentric whose best friend is an invisible six-foot rabbit named Harvey. This will be an adaptation of the 1950 classic starring James Stewart and based upon the Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Mary Chase. Tom Hanks and Will Smith are two possible contenders for the lead role for this classic.

Harvey will be the first Dreamworks production since its departure from Paramount, and has been in co-operation limelight with Fox Studio. Besides that, Spielberg has several projects underway in his briefcase as well – Matt Helm, Lincoln, The 39 Clues and Tintin. Filming for Harvey will starts in 2010.
