Plot: Based on a memoir by Danny Wallace first published in July 2005. According to the book, he describes how he spent six months saying "Yes" to any question or proposal that comes his way in his everyday life.

My Verdict:
Green Tea says:

"If you want to change your lifestyles, start saying 'Yes' to any upcoming opportunity!" That is the simple message you would derived from the latest Jim Carrey's movie. He is back to his signature role - the physical humour. He had done quite bad in his first venture into a dark and serious role in "The Number 23". It seems that the Joel Schumacher's movie had tainted some of his credibility as an excellent actor. In his latest effort, it is time to gain back the lost ingredient that we have missed for so long.

The return into his most familiar genre does produce some magic - powder, if not shower. In the movie, Jim Carrey played the role of Carl a loan officer who apparrently is having a bad time of his life. He says "No" to everything - friends, love and works life. It changed when he started attending a powerful seminar and met Allison (by Zooey Deschanel) - where he started to answer "Yes" for any upcoming opportunity. He need to adjust a new life into his pair of shoes while trying to confront several issues that come later.

The casting of Jim Carrey is a great opportunity for him to regain his status as a funny-man, and I answer YES. He proved himself really a funny-man, and he also proved that he is well comfortable for his role. He is eccentric and lovable. Terrence Stamp played the Yes-Guru and he is a legacy to be talked about. Norman (Rhys Darby) is another witty and hilarious character to pair with Carl while Allison proved to have a compelling chemistry with Carl - although both have opposite virtue, but the blend is good.

The story-telling is an unique feature for Yes-Man. Why? Take upon this example - Carl was playing guitar that inspired a song by Third Eye Blind's Jumper to persuade a man from jumping from the building. Also, a costume-themed party organized by Norman that based on movies from Warner Bros. (300 and Harry Potter). What about Allison in the fictional band Munchausen by Proxy in which she led in vocal for some strange lyrical bashing? These are simply an ideal touch of work to creative story. Although there are many irrelevant plots that popping up throughout the movie, it is still a joyride. But the problem remains how many times this movie can be watchable before you passed out?

If you are expecting the funny man to be delivering his legacy as a standout physical comedian, here you have one. The movie prove to be a good laugh-pile of comedy which made you sail through the running time without any complaint. There are several censorship been made and according to sources from Cinema Online, the ending may be a bit weird due to the censorship. Go and watch it, it worth your money to channel out the insanity and great humour. But face it, it may not be the funniest movie of the year - that's the fact. However, should I added it into the poll on the top right?
