Just like Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen last June, Paramount Pictures via United International Pictures (UIP) will previews G.I.Joe: The Rise of Cobra earlier by a few hours before midnight. The anticipated actioner by Stephen Sommers (the director of The Mummy and Van Helsing) will starts to be shown in the local cinema as early as 6pm. Upfront load is expected with high demand for this actioner will be imminent.
Last month, in a similar move, Transformers 2 started its Malaysian box office assault as early as 5pm on Tuesday. The giant robotic features was scheduled for a Wednesday June 24 release.
According to the GSC website, the schedule for the full screentimes has been up since few days ago. G.I.Joe will starts at its first show at:
- Berjaya Times Square, Alamanda Putrajaya, Cheras Leisure Mall, Dataran Pahlawan Melaka, Berjaya Megamall Kuantan (6pm)
- Queensbay Mall (6.15pm)
- Pavilion (6.30pm)
- Terminal 1 Seremban (6.40pm)
- The Gardens (6.45pm)
- Centre Square Sungai Petani, Sunway Carnival, Pelangi Leisure Mall JB, GSC Kota Kinabalu, 1Borneo, Tropicana City (7pm)
- 1 Utama, Gurney Plaza (7.10pm)
- Ipoh Parade (7.15pm)
- Summit USJ (7.40pm)
- MidValley Megamall (8.30pm)
- Summit Parade Batu Pahat (9.50pm)
TGV will also do the same measures with their earliest shows of 6pm at all its branches nationwide. Catch G.I.Joe officially at 6 August and possibly we are the first in the world to watch this movie.
