Sony's Screen Gems is motivated to kick start a new installment in the Underworld franchise. According to ComingSoon's horror arm, the fourth installment will be shot in a 3-D style and is targeting for a January 2011 release.
There is no words on whether Michael Sheen, Bill Nighy and Rhona Mitra (from Rise of The Lycans) or the original stars of Kate Beckinsale and Scott Speedman will return. Judging on earlier reports, Underworld 4 is a possible considering the nature of how Underworld: Evolution ended. Storywise is unknown too.
Although the prequel made only US$ 35 million in US and a total of global gross of US$ 91 million, it is enough for Screen Gems to push on another sequel.
