SPIELBERG STILL INSIST ON LINCOLN MOVIE

Spielberg spoke to Variety and has confirmed that he is still keen for a biopic on the US President – Abraham Lincoln. He also insists that his own works on Lincoln is still running despite the news that Robert Redford is making another Lincoln movie as well. News come that James McAvoy and Robert Wright Penn had signed to join the cast of Robert Redford’s The Conspirator.

"We are very happy that Redford will be doing this Lincoln movie," he says. "It is completely different from what our DreamWorks Lincoln movie will be, and we believe that it will add to the commercial potential of our film. Lincoln as a subject is inexhaustible.”

Robert Redford’s tale will focus mainly on the aftermath of Lincoln’s assassination while Spielberg’s view will be about Lincoln’s hand-writing over the Civil War. While Spielberg is busy compiling new materials for his DreamWorks studio following departure with long time partner Paramount Pictures. EO reports!!
